First Stephen Harper converted liberals to Tories, and now Sweden is turning against state ownership:
The Swedish government’s stakes in a range of state-owned companies will be sold if the opposition Alliance for Sweden wins next month’s elections, said Fredrik Reinfeldt, its leader.
The Swedish state is the country’s largest owner of companies. It oversees 57 that employ about 200,000 people …
“We believe the state has another role: to provide regulations and legislation and not be an actor in the marketplace itself,” Mr Reinfeldt said on his campaign bus in Örebro, west of Stockholm.
Alliance is currently ahead in polls. The election is on September 17.
