An unexpected headline:

Volleyball fan dies as hooligans run rampage

    1. I swear I had nothing to do with it…

    1. Wow.  Rival hooligans fighting at a prearranged place and time.  Sounds like a genuine rumble to me.

They seem to have forgotten the admonition about allowing politics into their sports. I guess the Peace of Zeus is now completely ignored.

    1. Or, maybe they don’t consider Volley Ball a real sport.

It is a sad state of affairs when men are no longer satisfied watching a bunch of girls in skimpy clothing jump up and down in front of them.

    1. Fan violence routinely mars Greek sport, usually centred around football and basketball, but occasionally affecting other sports such as water polo and volleyball.

Um, Greeks, maybe you should get another hobby.  And what is it with these Europeans rioting over sporting events?  They are such a violent people, not like us peaceful Americans, who only occasionally riot when our team wins the championship.  I guess we are too simplistic and fail to see the nuance.

    1. A 21st Century version of the Peloponnesian wars? Or a normal European shitfest? Or both? People there don’t seem to have rational balance.

    1. What is it with Greeks fighting in groups of 300?

    1. And what loyalty—they never leave their team’s behind.

    1. I once attempted a pitch invasion at a Beach Volleyball game.
