Amir Massoud Tofangsazan, eBay seller of a faulty laptop, possibly should have removed images of a personal nature before offloading the computer on its unhappy new owner—whose not-work-safe response is a masterpiece of internet vengeance.

    1. Ah, revenge is sweet! “To do an Amir” – wonderful! Bet the folks back in Dubai are proud of him.

    1. “To do an Amir”…..oh, man, that’s an instant classic!

    1. Amir Tofangsazan, meet Google Cache. You’ll be friends for a long time.

    1. I dunno – Amir sounds awfully proud of himself.  Not only as in “Look how smart I was to sell a junk laptop and get away with it!’’  but “Hey, look at my hot pictures!’’
I only hope that when remorse *does* set in, that it’s with compound interest.

BTW I think I recognize those spiffy new London Tube seats – the plush plaid ones; they’re on one of the lines that run between King’s Cross and Baker Street.  (Bakerloo? Circle?  Anybody?)

    1. Wait. We can still keep “to do a Wronwright”, can’t we?

    1. Dude shouldn’t have bought anything off an ebay with only a 50% rating. I hesistate to even buy it off someone with a 80% rating.

    1. 2,504,388 people have laughed at Amir, so far.  He did say he liked to make people laugh at his expense.  He should be really happy right about now.

    1. Great find, Andrea. But be careful, guys, a new jihadi is about to be born. And one with two ‘A’ Levels at that. (Although they haven’t gotten up to the difference between plurals and possessives in school yet to judge by his résumé.)

    1. Priceless!  Amir’s going to have to spend the rest of his life wondering if future employers will see the site, or if a buddy will tattle to Dad about his un-Islamic practices.  By the way, what is the Islamic penalty for kissing a guy in front of a half-naked girl?

    1. #11 RebeccaH. And the pictures just go to show you can take the boy out of Arabia, but you can’t take the Arab out of the boy.

    1. Stuart, the last time I was in London was Easter of 2000 – was the Jubilee Line up and running at that point?  Either way, it was a pleasant ride, for the Tube.

And in response to Rebecca’s question:

“By the way, what is the Islamic penalty for kissing a guy in front of a half-naked girl?’‘

My guess is that they stone the girl for being half-naked and for having been in the room when the two guys kissed.

    1. At least he puts the ladies first.  If I were the guy, that would upset me, but it is nice for the lady.

      And he’s honest.

He does need to talk to somebody about his leg fetish, however.  See what happens when you grow up never seeing that women have legs?  Tsk.

But he is honest, did I mention that?  It’s Mohammad honest, but…wait a minute.

    1. Ouch!

If revenge is a dish best served cold then Amir has just been sent a combination plate at a tastebud tantalyzing -273.16 °C.

    1. Interesting how out of all the media coverage on the subject, the BBC alone managed to spin the exposure of Amir’s fraud as being from a “hate site”.

    1. This story is getting more interesting as more on it emerges. Google, true to form, isn’t linking to any of the news on this event, just to blog mentions. You know, we simply CAN’T have the great unwashed drawing conclusions about people with a certain type of name, now, can we?!

And Amir’s Ebay Feedback has one positive entry. The nick (quite literally) is “nicktofang”; obviously a relative!

    1. #21   Cooking the stock market is just a new type of analysis.

You divide Gann analysis by your favorite kernel regression.  You then multiply that figure by your best estimate of the date for the magnetic pole shift.

Only way to get delta neutral on a Texas hedge backspread when trading Gaia futures on the new Dubai exchange.

Simple really.  Glad I could help.

    1. #26. Thanks, but I’m now more confused than ever.

#27. I think that there would be some law on the books about that. Invasion of privacy springs to mind. Although, since Amir doesn’t seem to be your classic anglo-saxon, the laws may not apply to him. After all, it could be discriminatory to charge him with anything since he appears to belong to a minority.

Um, that’s crazily improbable.  Think of all the crowd scenes you’ve seen in news photos, especially of demonstrations and stuff like that.  Do you think the photographers got written releases from every single person in every single photo?
There’s no right to photo-immunity, and if there ever starts to be such a right, the courts won’t have time to process anything BUT photo-immunity infractions.
