Chicago Sun-Times columnist Zay N. Smith:

News Item: Muslim leader condemns Danish court for exonerating the newspaper that caused Muslim riots by publishing cartoons of Muhammad, saying this is another instance of those in the Western world wanting “to impose their way of thinking on all other nations.”

Could the leader accept, at least, our imposing a sense of irony?

Them leaders ain’t big on irony. Meanwhile, reader Slammer notes a spelling error in comments, leading to a killer comment of his own:

You forgot to put the “al” in “multiculturalism”. Which is kinda funny, because misguided multiculturalism put all those unwanted als in Australia.

1. #1 Well, showman Al Grasby was only doing his bit for the immigration lawyer business, – keeping a bit of the action for himself on the side, like any good European ‘ethnic’.
   Al was a joke waiting to go sour.
   He had no idea what he really was advocating.

1. I don’t care what opinion people hold about any public figure, but the post was:

   This is out of line. Would you stand for a referrence to “any good Jew” or “any good Asian”? I hope not. It is nothing but a bigotted generalisation about all European migrants and their descendants. It is offensive and it is wrong.

   This is not a lecture, it is me telling someone to cut out some unacceptable behaviour.

   Isn’t this site moderated? Is this kind of language endorsed by the publishers of the site? You should be telling this guy to cut this out, not me.

   Al Grasby was a caricature of all the goodhumoured,solid,warm,positive,drastically hardworking,non politically correct,gutsy,aspirational Italians who -along with Greeks,Yugoslavs,Poles,Serbs,Swiss,Germans,Chinese,Japanese,Dutch,Russians,Austrians,Latvians,Swedes,Norwegians,Danes,Albanians -in the forties and early fifties came here to settle and INTEGRATE with each other and Strayans all.(Please excuse any nationality of the time left out).
   These people were the salt of the earth and built Australia’s culture and economy (with the Old Strayans) into the lucky country we have.
   Grasby was a Mafia Creature and NO representative of these magnificent migrants.
   Of course not forgeting our dear Pommy cousins’ influx in the sixties,they from whom we sprang..
