Australia have won the toss in Perth. Thank God for that.

    1. Well at least the chances of the first team to bat out the 50 overs is better than is has been.

    1. So far Wides is playing well.  Into double figures already…

    1. 1/131 after 25 overs.. I would be thinking 300 is a very attainable target at the moment.

    1. #3, maybe Fletcher should promote Mr Sundries to the national team.

#5, given this Australian team, I’d be looking at 400, but the kiwis did chase that down last year…

    1. Er, captain we still measure crickets by imperial measure.  ie a Ponting ton.

And an Australian collapse! now 3 for 250-odd ROFL!

    1. New Zealand have to get a ground record to beat Australia. The previous record was just smashed by over 30 runs and has stood for 23 years.

Kiwis don’t have a chance of a cinder in snow.

    1. Interesting poll on ninemsn – “Did our Ashes heroes deserve Australia Day honours?”

      Voting Yes : 21996, No : 34171

Good on us – we clearly don’t think the same way as the Brits do, where after their Ashes triumph a year or so ago, the whole team plus assorted hangers-on were hurriedly assembled in front of Elizabeth the Second Regina and each awarded Victoria Crosses.

    1. Australia doesn’t keep winning these games so much as New Zealand keep loosing them, learn to catch boys.

    1. Black Caps off to a great start but McGrath gets the breakthrough.

I’d like to see an Australia-A side playing – just so neither international team makes the final…

No, but in time I’ll be pissed off if we don’t get Lord Ricky of Mobray.

BTW, a worrying good start by the Kiwis.  Ummm, didn’t anyone tell them they were beaten before they started?

    1. New Zealand are a good side, and shouldn’t be mocked and ridiculed. (well, not for being crap like England are). Remember last year they chased down 331 against us.

343 might be a bridge too far, but they’ve more fight in them then the English.

Well, granted, but as the Poms are now beyond a joke, who do you think we should ridicule?  The Malaysians?

That’s the worst Scottish accent I’ve ever heard read.

    1. I usually find South Africans are ideal for my ridiculing needs. Especially with the World Cup just round the corner.

    1. Thank God for that. Turned into the first ODI this season worth watching. A good target set & a good chase to a narrow result. Excellent spectacle.

As to my ridiculing needs, well the English cricket team has filled them & has given me about 12 months worth.

The South Africans have just beaten the Pakistanis tonight – 3rd Test over in 3 days, and have won the series

I think the Poms are the ones to ridicule poor bastards – they’ve only earned $2,000 a day for their efforts on this trip so you have to feel sorry for them!
