Margo Kingston on insider deals (1):

Political parties are backed by big business money which guarantees preferred access to political ears and special favours … Governments tend to stack government authorities with people close to them who will do what the government expects them to do.

Margo Kingston on insider deals (2):

I have employed my brother Hamish for a year to get the website going.

UPDATE. Margo contributor Mark D. Hayes don’t want nobody else publishing his searing, Webdiary-only analysis:

    1. Tim,
Your Margo bating is very entertaining.
Why do you think she never bites?

    1. It’ll be interesting to see if Margo keeps paying money on a regular basis to a guy who – if the front page of yourdemocracy is anything to go by – doesn’t have a clue about web design, the Internet, or time lines (I think that by mid-February you can kiss “early 2005” goodbye). So, two months have passed and Kingston has one solitary page that surely rates in the bottom 0.5% of web pages on any criteria you care to mention (look, content, updating, relevance…).

Which gives me an idea: Why don’t you update the poll on your site and ask us when we think yourdemocracy will actually start functioning? Be sure to include “When Hamish is sacked” as one of the options.

But more disturbing than her site (and it’s pretty bloody disturbing, I’ll grant you that), is her comment about political parties and big business. I’m not going to comment, except to say that it’s unsurprising that the SMH employs someone who hasn’t worked out the basics of her beat.

She expects people to subscribe to her site by years end. I’ll be donating to ensure you have a steady stream of idiocy to fisk. But only if they can get more than one page up per quarter!

    1. Margo and her Web Dairy, like Adams and Ramsey, are the best advertisements for keeping the Liberals in power for the foreseeable future. I regularly take a shot at the more ludicrous punters on her site (my favourite is Marilyn Shepherd – the Village Idiot of Web Diary) because the more we flesh out their views the more turned off the average punter becomes. Basically, your average hard working Australian doesn’t want a return to the days of “surfboards for women”; nor do they want an open door policy on immigration that is destroying the UK as we speak; nor to they want to be fooled by the Habibs of the world.

Without the SMH and Web Diary, fools like Jack Robertson wouldn’t be in a position to inadvertently support the Libs. Jack “of all trades” Robertson (read his bio) just couldn’t have his copy printed anywhere else.

Margo should be congratulated for her public service!

    1. Is Doctor Mark a’feared of a fisking?
BTW- Hamish has a head like a hatful of harseholes, hunlike his horrible harridan hof a hemployer- her head has horrified hundreds; a hideous hag and harpy who harrangues Howard hopelessly. The Herald should hang its head, but Hillmer is halfwitted.

    1. Anyone else notice the admission of defeat before she’s even started?
But essentially, this site is bottom-up
Arse up on the first page- that Margo’s a publishing giant, I tells ya.

    1. I expect you will hear from Hayes for breaching the copyright on his copyright claim.  Perhaps you’ve fallen into a trap.
