Faiths align in Los Angeles:

A local group of environmental scientists and philanthropists broke its own rule and met with a Christian group to discuss the possibility of joining forces to solve environmental problems.

    1. As my son-in-law said tonight, this new-age stuff is not attracting any new worshippers, only repelling the conservative ones like himself.  He is horrified by the antics of the priest in their parish.  I cannot comment since I am not familiar with that parish.

    1. This is good thread for this one:

      Easter Bunny Bundles Up

CBS/AP) Never mind the Easter bonnets. In a large swath of the U.S., you had better remember where you put your winter hat and put it on.

Just about everywhere east of the Rockies, it’s extremely cold for this time of year – with snow in parts of the Northeast and Midwest, and freezing temperatures elsewhere – and it’s going to stay this way right through the weekend.

I sympathize wih your son-in-law. I am certainly not against the idea of preaching due care for the environment as both moral and responsible.  However, I am very concerned when this wholly subsidiary issue begins to usurp our core religious beliefs.

      To quote Thomas Sowell:

“Everybody is an environmentalist in the sense of not wanting to breathe polluted air or drink polluted water. But in practice the term has come to refer to a pagan nature worship cult that readily sacrifices other human beings on the altar to their dogmas.”

    1. This is fitting, in that I’ve never heard of either the actress or the religions. I had to Google this idiot to realize that he appeared in many TV shows, most of which just happened to be produced by her husband.

I did see the Presbyterians mentioned. I guess that they finished publishing the book blaming Bush for blowing everything up on 9/11. How he managed to do all of that, hide all evidence, silence everyone involved AND read a kiddie book simultaneously has got me flummoxed.

Ps.S. I thought that most of these eco outfits were religious/cultist in nature?

    1. Hellbilly:

Is Algore visiting SE Texas this weekend?

ALTHOUGH THE CALENDAR SAYS IT IS APRIL…THERE IS SOME POTENTIAL FOR SOME WINTRY PRECIPITATION LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY NIGHT. AREAS NORTH OF A CALDWELL TO LIVINGSTON LINE COULD RECEIVE A COLD RAIN…RAIN MIXED WITH SLEET…RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW OR ANY COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE. AT THIS TIME…VERTICAL THERMAL PROFILES OF THE ATMOSPHERE FAVOR A COMBINATION OF RAIN AND SLEET. THE BEST CHANCE FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION WILL OCCUR BETWEEN 3 PM SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND 3 AM SUNDAY MORNING.

TEMPERATURE RECORDS WILL LIKELY BE ESTABLISHED OVER THE WEEKEND.  Link

Won’t be enjoying Easter in the swimming pool this year!

    1. Why is this a surrprise?

You don’t have to look far to see churches falling overthemselves to embrace left-wing causes in the name of ‘social justice’; the spread of conspiracy theories through churches (a surprising number of happy-clappies believe ‘Loose Change’); and that there is often a wide variety of newsletters from various left-wing, green causes at the back of a church these days.

It looks like another case of praise the lord and pass the bong.

    1. It is just so freakin’ scary when Christians try to be “cool”.

I say this as a Christian.

And, just as some academics forget that Marxists always kill the academics first, so it is with some Christians and fascists.
