Despite dying in 1945, Franklin Roosevelt remained active in the post-war years and somehow even raised taxes … at least according to the SMH’s Andrew West:

In the postwar Anglosphere, Franklin Roosevelt, Clement Attlee and Ben Chifley exemplified this project. They were genuine nation-building reformers. Roosevelt refined progressive taxation so the millionaires and their scions paid their fair share.
