Melbourne blogger Anonymous Lefty attempts to join the Labor Party:

I went as far as getting an application form. But you have to promise, if you’re ever in a position to hire someone, to only hire union members. What if one doesn’t apply? Or what if they’re not the best person for the job? Isn’t that corrupt?

Thus begins the evolution of a conservative. He’ll be Anonymous Righty by 2012.

UPDATE. Anonymous Lefty posts a correction:

I threw that comment out somewhat flippantly, as being what I recalled from my enquiries almost two years ago. I may have been wrong. In fact, I was. Now I’ve gone and checked again, the following is what the ALP Application actually requires: “If I employ labour, I will actively encourage trade union membership.”

Let’s hope Media Watch never hears about this. “He now admits he lied! All bloggers lie! Lie lie lie!”
