- Heh. This prediction came true awfully quick:
Zarqawi Scheduled for Martyrdom
June 7, 2006: The relationship between terrorist leader Abu Musab al Zarqawi and and the mainline al Qaeda leadership continues to deteriorate…
Given that Zarqawi has become a loose cannon and that his actions are handicapping Al Qaeda’s efforts, it seems reasonable to expect that an accident may befall him at some point in the near future. If handled right it can be made to look like he went out in a blaze of glory fighting American troops or that he was foully murdered. Either way, al Qaeda gets rid of a problem and gains another “martyr.”
Was his location betrayed on the order of his “higher-ups”, perhaps?

I’ve just been watching a press conference on BBC World and the head of US forces announced they positively identified Zarqawi from his dead face.
My only concern is that the bastard still had a face left to identify

I realise my previous comment is going to be found morally reprehensible by some of the visitors here with slightly more terrorist-friendly leanings.

- #24 – true, but they weren’t this confident and unequivocal before. The earlier claims of Zarqawi’s death were always described as “unverified reports”. This time sounds different.Posted by James Waterton on 2006 06 08 at 04:52 AM • permalink

- Loud applause broke out as al-Maliki, flanked by U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad and U.S. Gen. George Casey, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, told reporters at a news conference that “al-Zarqawi was terminated.”
Ubique I trust that those rounds will be fired for effect.
I cyber piss on Zarqawi’s grave.

- Well, I don’t think Al Gore, John Kerry, and other Democrats will like this. No sir. They’ve been arguing that the War Against Terrorism is wrong. That it instead should be the Law Enforcement Action Against Some Alleged Perpetrators of a Crime Who Do Not Necessarily Come From a Particular Group of Persons Because That Would Be Bigotry.
They would have preferred the New York police department carry out a five year investigation, seeking evidence that proves a crime was committed beyond a reasonable doubt. If and when that standard could be met, then the US government—a constitutionally elected one, not one stolen through the shenanigans of the neocons—would request that the Taliban kindly, very kindly, oh please!, hand over the alleged perpetrator, maybe to a world criminal court in The Netherlands, who would put the person on trial for five years or more. After which time, the man would take his own life out of sheer boredom, a la Milosovic.
But from my standpoint, I say wrap the remains of the man in a pig blanket and bury him in a pig pen near a synagogue in Israel. But do it respectfully.

- ABC Background Briefing this week:
The man who wrote “The End of History?” is now disenchanted with American foreign policy. Fukuyama remains a conservative, but has strong views on what has gone wrong. He sees a need to demilitarise the struggle against violent fundamentalism.
Has anyone told the fundamentalists they should demilitarise and just … well, … talk, I guess.
Maybe the ABC could go and talk to the fundamentalists and tell them to demilitarise.
- A difficult day for the left, requiring much reshuffling of the “reality-based” community cards.
For example, Mr. Fisk can now declare he was correct before he was actually correct:
“I don’t know if al-Zarqawi is alive or exists at the moment. I don’t know if he isn’t a sort of creature invented in order to fill in the narrative gaps, so to speak.”And Mr Ware will be pounding on doors all over Bagdad, looking for a new superstar:
“Who’s winning from this war? Who is benefiting right now? Well, the main winners so far are al-Qaeda, which is stronger than it was before the invasion. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was a nobody. Now he’s the superstar of international jihad.”
- From the President’s new conference this morning.
Last night in Iraq, United States military forces killed the terrorist Al-Zarqawi. At 6:15 Bagdad time Special Operation forces acting on tips and intelligence from Iraqis confirmed Zarqawi’s location and delivered justice to the most wanted terrorist in Iraq.
God I love that line, “delivered justice”

- Dead or alive, well sort of alive and then dead. Take that scum bag. May your 72 virgins be 88 year old nuns who aren’t interested in sex but do make you atone for your sins and send you to hell for the misery you caused.
Zarqman’s a dead man, let the sensible rejoice. Now will someone in the MSM would interview Keysar Trad and ask him if it is a good thing or a bad thing that Zarqman’s and ex man? If it’s a bad thing then how does that work for the religion of peace? If every man’s death is to be mourned then how much mourning has the ex man caused? I say its a happy day. Now I’m going back to my Pilsener to enjoy the party in the right blogoshpere. I might even get a four finger single malt scotch down range before going to bed.

Zarqawi’s Nice But Where’s Osama, Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh?
MSM Headline:
US Guilty of Another Rendition
yeah they rendered him into a big plate of pulled pork…
So when is the mighty Arab Street scheduled to rise? We still have Longbows left.
Concerning which: wronwright: I’ve seen NYPD pissed off. Take the Longbow.

- Don’t worry about Iowahawk. I just went by his site, and read a brilliant piece entitled The Pussy Always Purrs Twice. In it, he absolutely skewers our old friend James Wolcott.
Well a man, come on
Six o’clock news
Says somebody been shot
Somebody’s been abused
Somebody blew up a building
Somebody stole their car
Somebody got away
Somebody didn’t get too far, yeah
They didn’t get too farGrandpappy told my pappy
Back in my day, son
A man had to answer
For the wicked thing he done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree
Round up all of them bad boys
And hang ‘em high in the street
For all the people to seeAnd justice is the one thing
You should always find
You gotta saddle up your boys
You gotta draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles
We’ll sing a victory tune
And we’ll all meet back
At the local saloonWe’ll raises up our glasses
Against evil forces
Singing, “Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses!”We got too many gangsters
Doing dirty deeds
Too much corruption
And crime in the streets
It’s time the long arm of the law
Put a few more in the ground
Send them all to their Maker
And he’ll set them on down
You can bet, He’ll set ‘em downCause justice is the one thing
You should always find
You gotta saddle up your boys
You gotta draw a hard line
When the gunsmoke settles
We’ll sing a victory tune
And we’ll all meet back
At the local saloonAnd we’ll raise up our glasses
Against evil forces
Singing, “Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses!”
Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses! You know justice is the one thing
You should always find

- Rot in hell Zarqawi, you got off lightly. May you get your hoard of virgins and may each and every one of them look like a 300 pound Margo stuffing their faces with pork sandwiches, and bitching about menstrual cramps for eternity.
I was at our local Iraqi market (Haji Mart) when the news broke. A bunch of Iraqi were running around and yelling, I thought the doo-doo was about to hit the fan. The old gentleman I was talking to translated the news for me. Everyone was elated at the news. It was a good day today.
- A good day indeed, TBob, and such splendid news to wake up to. Kudos and thanks to all involved.
So, Mr. Zarqawi, you POS, how many virgins have you schtupped so far? What’s that you say? There are no virgins in the outer ring of the 7th Circle of Hell? Well, imagine that. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

- Well, I had to go for balance on this story.
Michael Moore is only updated through June 7th. But give him time.
Eureka!! DemocracyNow is up and printing!
They do have the story, right above more US forces accused of killings. For proper perspective they are interviewing Robert Fisk in Montreal. Love to tell ya what he said but you have to BUY! the tape to find out. I love these people, really I do.
They do have a great picture of his dead mug though.Feed his remains to the pigs! People Pigs have standards to.
Maybe feed his remains to a trial lawyer might be better.
- Black Wreath and Black Ribbons adorn the portals of the New York Times. ANOTHER UNPROVOKED ATTACK ON A FREEDOM FIGHTER AND MEMBER OF A MINORITY GROUP. Thus (predictably) spakes the towering headlines of the NYT. The United States PBS is reporting that teddy bears (no kidding) were found in the rubble. Yes, weren’t innocenturions with teddy bears wiped out also, hu, hu, hu, by the impatient military? We journalistic jihadists need no proof of anything to make accusations about everyhing.
