Frances Stead Sellers reviews the Independent:

There are those who say they loathe its daily rants, but the Independent has won a following of liberal, educated loyalists who forgive (or don’t notice) its skimpy newsgathering and don’t care that the paper’s Web site is a rudimentary affair. They embrace its political correctness. “Fisk is God,” one avid reader told me, apparently without irony.

“Educated”. Curious term, that.
