Katie Couric gets the reverse Reuters treatment, whereby an image is made to look better.

    1. After Perky Katie basically admitted that CBS was going to continue to spin the news (“we’ll tell you what it means”), I guess the real test of whether or not the blogosphere is having an effect on “truthiness” will be seen in her ratings….

    1. It’s another episode of “Pimp My Side”.

    1. It’s not just her waist that’s been reduced, it’s also her face. And her neck. And her arms.

    1. Does she look totally unnatural with that big cheesey grin or what????  It makes her look like the Joker or something…

    1. Hey, don’t knock Photoshop; it’s why I now look like this.

    1. #5: The guy on the right, incidentally; not the chick in the ad.

    1. Now there’s a Reuters picture that could use some additional smoke. Coming out of her ears, that is.

Seriously, she looks like a robot there.

    1. I dunno, I could use a diet like that.  ;-P

    1. Except that I wouldn’t look like a robot, of course!

    1. Would you look like the chick in the ad if you were on that diet??

    1. paco might……but I already resemble Cary Grant, except for the slightly larger waistline.  ;-P

    1. What disgusting phonys these people are, bereft of dignity or shame.

    1. #12 Which one? Katie, Cary or Paco?

    1. paco, when I clicked on your link, I got a pair of shiny, sequined man-bags.  You photoshopped yourself to look like a man-bag? WTF?  Are you trying to cuddle up to Lowenstein?

    1. #13: Hey, guilty as charged.

      #14: ??????

    1. Oh paco.  And I look like Ingrid.  Let’s be Notorious!

I have found the CBS promotion of Katie the most obvious, over-blown, insecure act I’ve seen in ages— and never with a news reporter.  Of course, she isn’t a news reporter, so I guess it’s okay.

    1. By God, that’s a scary set of choppers. When they squeezed her waist in, do you think twin jets of selzer water squirted out of either side of her teeth?

    1. 16: What a GREAT film! What really sticks in my mind is Claude Rains remarking on a personal order of cigars that had come in (“should be about a thousand”). A. Thousand. Cigars. Probably Cuban. Puff, puff. Aahhhhhhh!!!!

    1. The whole image has just been squeezed horizontally, have a look at the background. This sort of thing is apparently the norm in the (particularly womens’) print media.

Personally I reckon our Aussie queen of grotesque facial manipulation is Tracy Grimshaw. I’m sure there’s been a side of beef injected into each revolting lip.

    1. Katie is a beauty in any shape, it’s unfortunate that Publishers re-shape her to suit their publications image etc….

Also, don’t be dumb, don’t smoke.

Re: Tracy Grimshaw is lovely, HOWEVER, who ever is her stylist needs to re-think Tracy’s outfits she matches the background and there is no shape to her suits.

    1. I don’t see what the issue is here. From day one, Katie Couric was known as a talentless, clueless, thoughtless idiot and had no value other than a “pretty” face.

She was an overt and upfront “ratings” choice.

So, since she’s little more than a biological manikin, why not make her at least appear presentable?

    1. That ain’t Paco. Where’s the gat? Where’s the pint of cheap hooch?

    1. Paco won’t want you to see this, but here’s a snapshot of him at work in his office.

    1. I looked and I looked at that picture of Perky Katie and I still can’t see where the Israeli missile hit!

    1. #23, Well, if that is Paco, then I’m Betty Bacall, and I could use some rest, a Big Sleep.  (I’d go for the Falcon, but I’d rather be Betty than Mary.)

    1. 22: Smithovitch, I found the camera you had hidden behind the radiator. I’ll be glad to hand deliver it. Just let me know where you live, and I’ll drop around some night.
