In typically enthusiastic style, Hamas celebrates Israel’s Gaza withdrawal:
A massive explosion ripped through a crowd at a rally staged by the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip today, killing at least 10 Palestinians and wounding scores of others, medical officials said.
Cause of the blast appears to be blundering Hamas killbots:
The jeep was ferrying gunmen from the Islamic fundamentalist movement’s armed wing to the open space set aside for festivities celebrating Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza when the vehicle exploded, sending mangled body parts of militants and bystanders flying.
Palestinian witnesses said a crowd, including many children, swarmed around the truck moments before it blew up.
The victims include at least two children and three militants.
You know what these guys need? A state of their own! Naturally, Hamas—the Three Stooges of global terrorism—has denied responsibility:
Hamas blamed Israel, which categorically denied any involvement in the blast. Witness accounts and some Palestinian Authority officials suggested that ordnance and weaponry being paraded by the group had accidentally exploded.
This sort of thing happens often:
An accidental explosion would be only the latest in a string of deadly mishaps for militant groups in Gaza.
A Hamas weapons warehouse exploded this month in Gaza City, killing six people. Hamas claimed it was an Israeli attack, but Palestinian security forces found the blast was an accident caused by the militants.
During an Islamic Jihad rally at the abandoned Jewish settlement of Netzarim last week, a gunman died after accidentally shooting himself in the head.
Even after the blast Friday, seven or eight gunmen stood in the back of another truck riding through Gaza, using their feet to stop a half-dozen rockets from bouncing around in the bed.

Tim, you nailed this one.
I must also add, having handled explosives before, that this sort of behavior is Darwinian in nature. If it weren’t for the young children (who possibly don’t understand the risks and hazards involved), I would be totally devoid of any concern for these idiots.

Israel has clearly got it wrong over the last few years. Instead of trying to prevent the “palestinians” getting weapons, they should have tried to ensure that the Jordyptians got MORE weapons. They could have marketed them as “Party Mortars” and “Children’s Teething Grenades”.

It would seem that the Israelis are more careful not to kill Palestinian Arab children than the Palestinian Arabs are.
Harry, I think the answer is yes, it is wrong, because it is just barely possible, just barely mind you, that the children might grow up to have a brain and not become splodeydopes or their enablers. Therefore, the children are potentially redeemable from evil. Admittedly, given the environment of militant Islamism there redemption will be difficult to effect.

According to DEBKAfile, Hamas have fired more than forty missiles into Israel from the Gaza Strip since Friday night. I’d call that a pretty serious provocation.

#17 slammer, if you didn’t laugh, you’d cry. It’s that simple from where I sit.
If all we could do was cry, we might as well top ourselves now.
As it is, we crack wise, all the while breaking inside for the children who will never grow up.
I can be as big a smart arse as anyone, and I know there are times when I get pretty harsh, too. But I tell you what, everything I do these days, everything I read or see or hear, is filtered via my child and what impact it may have on her. I look at what’s happening over there, I read jihadwatch, and it gives me nightmares.
If I didn’t get to read about the inanity of the margo’ses of the world, and the fact that they have the luxury of spouting off like they do, I’d be jumping off the Rialto. There is a helluva lot wrong with this world, and the bleeding bloody hearts brigade have a lot to answer for with their social engineering things to the extent that we have to deal with the palestinians blowing up their own children and then using that to score points against us.
There is always time for crying, but you’ve got to laugh, too.
And for all those extremists out there who want to destroy us? I fart in your general direction!

That is nearly as bad as the early Iraqi insurgents who tried to fire a mortar. It didn’t go off so a few blokes picked up the mortar and shook out the shell while another bloke caught it.
