Iranian political analyst Hosein Rouyvaran reveals Nazi Germany’s caring side:

The gas chambers were for disinfecting the clothes and the possessions of the prisoners.

    1. There’s no end to the recycled lies and calumnies the Iranians are coming up with.  According to Iranian political analyst, Hasan Hanizadeh, even if the Holocaust had happened. which it hadn’t, there was plenty of reason to get back at the Jews:

Unfortunately, the West has forgotten two horrendous incidents, carried out by the Jews in 19th-century Europe – in Paris and London, to be precise. In 1883, about 150 French children were murdered in a horrible way in the suburbs of Paris, before the Jewish Passover holiday. Later research showed that the Jews had killed them and taken their blood. This event caused riots in Paris back then, and the French government found itself under pressure.

Terror-ible situation with Iran. That regime is going to destroy Israel if it gets the chance. My flatmate suggested the US should take a page from Israel’s book, and get in there before they have a chance to build up any kind of arsenal, just like the IDF did to Iraq’s (French-purchased/built reactor) in the 80s.

      I’m inclined to agree.

This 26 episode series was broadcast across Iran in 2004 (during Ramadan of course) and more recently on Jordanian satellite TV and Hezbollah TV (which from memory is or was available in Australia). It is the worst example of racism I have ever encountered. It is as bad, perhaps arguably worse, than the Nazi propaganda films.

I should warn some of it is very hard to watch. If you wish to spare yourself that I described some of it a few days ago in an earlier thread.

Once Iran has the bomb, Europe will shrivel into duxt and the US will become France. Now it’s time to act, but Churchill screamed the same to Chamberlain, and see what happened.

    1. #51 Good question. In my own area, I’m working on local and regional representatives to get off their butts and start demanding that the government take the following steps:
      1. Treat the Iranian statements as a declaration of war against a UN member (Israel) and ourselves.
      2. As a consequence, the UN is obliged by its charter to come to the defense of its members against such a clear cut act of aggeression.
      3. This calls for sanctions, economic and military.
      4. To declare that should the UN not take action (and we know it wont), then individual states under the intimidation of aggression, can take, and will take, preemptive action.
The public expression of such a plan will give the Iranian cowards pause, and will permit Israel to take action in its own defense.

      Posted by stats on 2006 01 04 at 07:16 PM • permalink

    1. Israel doesn’t need permission from anyone to defend itself.  In fact, Israel won’t even bother to wait for the usual UN hem-hawing should a defensive action become necessary, because they know permission to act would never come anyway.  And since Israel is routinely condemned for everything it does, there’s no need to worry about bad public relations either.

If the rest of us are smart, we’ll opt for Israel’s position.

And the US has a presence between Israel and Iran.  So the question in my mind is, how does the US provide logistical support to the Israelis, without the DNC and NYT leaking it before it happens?

Posted by Steve Skubinna on 2006 01 04 at 08:26 PM • permalink

    1. Israel’s aircraft probably cannot reach the target nuclear processing and construction facilities.  So no airstrike is possible.  In any case the facilities are buried too deep for conventional munitions to destroy them.  The only munitions capable of destroying such hardened targets are nukes, and maybe not the ones Israel has if the targets are deep enough.  Not even Zahal can perform miracles on demand.

Israel is only the first, in any case. although few people will understand that.  A lot of Euros will just sigh and say the damned Jews had it coming, just as many of them did about 9/11.  Then they’ll be in a panic when Iran starts threatening them somewhere down the road, but have no clue what to do.

The only safe thing to do with Iran is overthrow the government and replace it with some kind of halfway decent consensual government.  In the longer term this means a two-pronged approach of supporting the democratic movement heavily (although it seems a bit moribund right now) together with supporting an guerilla war against the Mullahs with active sanctuaries in as many of the surrounding countries as we can influence and provide protection for, mostly Iraq and Afghanistan.  These mad Mullahs will start a world war one of these days if we don’t overthrow them.

Over the short term I think it is in the interests of the US to prevent any kind of a nuke war as well as to prevent nuke terrorism.  We should tell the Iranian Mad Mullahs that if they use their deadly toys we will nuke the country back into the Stone Age (Paleolithic not Neolithic).  Furthermore, if there is any nuclear terrorism, especially against the USA, tell them we will just assume it came from Iran, and nuke them to the stone age for that too.  If it turned out that it wasn’t them, we’ll apologize later, while nuking the real perps.  If the Iranians want to avoid this danger they should overthrow the Mullahs now.  The mullahs are only in power because the Iranians were dumb enough to put them there 26 years ago.  This should be explained very carefully, in a clandestine manner, to the Iranian Army, and the officers should be asked if they think the mullahs’ madness is a good idea.

The best thing that could happen in Iran right now is for a Pinochet to come to power, somebody who will overthrow the crackpots in power and rule until a suitable transition to democracy can be achieved.  Pinochet waited too long for the latter, but he was still better than turning Chile into a new Cuba.  Similarly an Iranian Pinochet will be preferable to turning Iran into radioactive rubble.
