Via RWDB, the announcement of a new political movement:

The Best Party of Allah in Australia applied for registration in the ACT today and aims to eventually provide a national political voice for Muslims.

President and founder Kurt Kennedy said the party rejected the use of violence for political means and wanted to see the laws of Allah – known in some countries as Sharia law – introduced.

This is bad news—particularly for The Worst Party of Allah in Australia, whose days must now be numbered. Also at RWDB: unusual attention-dodging behaviour.

UPDATE. And more weirdness, this time noted by James Waterton.

1. “(Koranic law) is not inconsistent with the best laws we have in Australia,” Mr Kennedy told AAP.

   It’s the other laws – the one’s that are inconsistent with Koranic law – that will have to go.  But they’re crap anyway or they wouldn’t be so inconsistent.

1. Didn’t I once read that taking part in a parliamentary democracy is forbidden by those strict Koran interpretations that recognize only Sharia as the law that can exist in Muslim lands?

   I suppose this might fall under taqqiya, or let’s call it the Hitler strategy: We have to succeed at the ballot box in order to destroy the democratic order.

1. The common goal of Islamists worldwide is Sharia Law. Terrorism is their unofficial escort. The question is, at what point does any foreign law conflict with Australian Law.
