Nicolas Sarkozy hits on a deleriously French means of funding ad-free public television:
Funding would be generated by a tax on mobile phone operators and internet service providers, as well as a levy on the advertising revenues of commercial channels.
Those networks will be directly financing their ratings opponent. Should work a treat – at least according to French economic theories.
