Daylight saving trouble seven years ago:
In September 1999, the Palestinian West Bank was on daylight saving time while Israel had just switched back to standard time. West Bank Palestinians prepared time bombs and smuggled them to Arab Israelis, who misunderstood the time on the bombs. As the bombs were being planted, they exploded—one hour too early—killing three terrorists instead of the intended victims—two busloads of people.
And the troubles continue:
Daylight saving, which was due to come into force in Iran on Tuesday—the first day of the Iranian new year—has been abolished by president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad … Government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham justified the decision to eliminate daylight saving on the grounds that when the legal hour changes many faithful have difficulty in calculating with precision the hour of prayer.
