“It seemed as though the campaign had never ended,” writes Time’s Perry Bacon Jr:

There was John Kerry standing on a chair in a blue neighborhood of Atlanta, in the Democrat-friendly tavern Manuel’s, speaking to 100 folks, many of them wearing Kerry-Edwards T shirts. The Massachusetts Senator insisted that he wasn’t “one to lick wounds,” then he did.

Poor Mr. Bacon. Imagine being assigned to the after-campaign Kerry beat.

    1. It’s like they just can’t get enough of the sweet, sweet taste of failure!

    1. OT but in breaking news it turns out the story about Tony Abbott’s love child has taken a South Park turn.

    1. “We actually won in the battleground states,” Kerry said,

Right.  Kerry won one state that Gore didn’t, and lost in two that Gore won (3 if you claim Gore won Florida).  If Kerry “won in the battleground states”, then the election was a sure lock for Bush to begin with.

adding that his loss in Ohio was so close that if “half the people … at an Ohio State football game” had voted differently, he would be in the Oval Office now.

Mmm-hmm.  And if the much smaller number of people equal to just half of those at a University of New Hampshire football game had reversed their votes, Bush would have won that state and the presidency no matter what Ohio did.

      How amazingly pathetic.

    1. Saving his “plan” for 2008, eh? Wait, I forgot, Bush is now following it. “Idiot Wind, blowing like a circle around my skull.”

    1. Look at the bright side, folks.  John “Lurch” Kerry will be another Ralph Nader to the Democratic National Committee.  Can’t hurt, could be amusing.

    1. John, what makes you think that Ter-ray-suh is going to let you waste any more of her money?  In fact, I perdict Mr. Kerry will be hunting a new sugar momma in a few months…

    1. YeaH, I think the Abbot soap opera-bizarro-abortion of an adoption story is much more exciting than has beens on the other side of the world.
Very interesting interview with the mother in question (who must have had some suspicion you would think) last month .  She was obviously fantasising about telling her son his father was the PM (for non OZ audiences, Tony Abbot is sometimes suggested as a potential PM).

    1. John “If Only” Kerry is doing about the best he can do. The dems don’t want him since Hillary is actively campaigning, the Repubs love the fact that he is out there whining and reminding people of what a loser he is. He is still dawdling over signing his Form 180, which is now a farce. If there is nothing particularly embarrassing in it, why the fuss? Only a real jerk would let something like that derail a campaign. If there is bad stuff in there, he’s toast anyway, so why drag it out and remind people that you aren’t the hero you told them you were. He never/couldn’t answered the Swift Boat charges and seems to think they won’t come up again. What a boring, unfit, candidate!

    1. And in the battleground state of Wisconsin, he won by fewer votes than the number for which the registrations are questionable, even with the help of felony vandalism of the Republican get out the vote vans.

    1. Abu — According to Mickey Kaus over at Slate, Kerry is now saying he will sign his Form 180.

      Again.

The only way we will ever see that Form 180 signed is if some Dem “campaign expert” (I mean, think of their track record) convinces him to try and “lance the boil” by getting the bad news out as early as possible and dull it down by repetition.

    1. If you think John Kerry is a loser, what about those people that pay money to see/hear him? Were there many giant puppets or Bushitler-Hallichimp-fratboy-idiot references?

    1. The election was won in the southwestern counties of Ohio.  Kerry took Cleveland, Toledo, and Columbus, but he couldn’t take Cincinnati and the adjoining counties.

Which means the 2008 Democratic candidate will probably park her ass in Cincinnati during the whole campaign.  Which is probably not a good thing for Cincinnati.

    1. “We actually won in the battleground states,” Kerry said, adding that his loss in Ohio was so close that if “my grandmother had a penis she’d be my grandfather.”
