Dozens murdered in Jordan:

Explosions ripped through three five-star hotels in central Amman nearly simultaneously, killing at least 67 people and wounding dozens of others.

The bombs were believed to have been planted by suicide attackers to the Radisson Sas, Hyatt Amman and Day’s Inn hotels, strapped on their bodies or in a car driven up to a security barrier, deputy prime minister Marwan Muasher said Wednesday night.

“One bomber blew himself up inside a wedding party and that was the most damage,” he said. Those victims – at Amman’s Radisson SAS hotel – were Jordanians, he said.

Also killed: five members of a Chinese delegation, two female Iraqis, and the daughter of Syrian film director Mustafa Akkad. Oh, and this guy:

The head of the Palestinian intelligence services, Bashir Nafeh, was among those killed in the blasts.

No more shakedowns for him.

UPDATE. More viciousness:

A suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest blew himself up in a crowded Baghdad restaurant frequented by the security forces during breakfast on Thursday, killing 35 people and wounding at least 25 more, police said.

“Body parts are all over the place, we are still collecting them,” a police officer at the scene said.
