Andrew Jaspan won’t be impressed:
Australian businessman Douglas Wood, who was once forced to plead for his life on video, may go back in front of a camera to give evidence against his former Iraqi captors.
As Quentin George writes: “The ingratitude!”
Great, I can hear it now: “the defence calls Mr Andrew Jaspan, Editor in Chief, The Age newspaper, Melbourne, Australia, to give evidence to the good character of the accused in both the horrible injustice inflicted upon them by the American infidel invaders that drove them to committing this alleged crime in the name of Allah and also of their honest, fun loving nature so amply evidenced by their caring treatment of Mr Wood – feeding him daily and not blowing his brains out as they did to his Iraqi aids.”

Maybe Jaspan should submit his own video as a character witness for the defense.

Heard AM’s Fran Kelly 6 am Thurs morning editorialize on the Baghdad stampede caused ‘it seems, by no enemy except chaos’, thus echoing the most addle-brained of anti-war mantras.
This comment actually followed by a minute ABC news that some 7 of the crowd had been killed by rocket attacks earlier the same day.
Fran must live in her very own bubble.
No use complaining to anyone, I guess.

I hope he gets to attend the sentencing and execution as well. Might as well go whole hog.
