Chris Masters blames wilful excerpting for the perception that his Alan Jones biography concentrated unfairly on Jones’ sexuality:

The extraction and concentration of controversial material in the first excerpt published in The Sydney Morning Herald did appear to colour a more measured portrait.

And who was the SMH’s sex-obsessed excerpter whose unnecessary emphasis coloured Masters’ “measured portrait”? Step forward, David Marr:

I did the excerpts.

    1. Ho hum, more measured cutting and pasting from the master of the evil excerpt.

And “Via” who? Oh, of course, who else? It’s what they call an RSS feed – Really Stupid Slander.

    1. Are Masters and Marr friends?  Imagine the hem-hawing.

    1. Good morning Miranda, be a good dear and make everyone coffee.

I’ll have a latte thank you.

    1. There ought to be depleted measured portrait somewhere, as a byproduct of the concentration.

    1. It’s like Miranda’s feverish brain remnants blank out all the non-quoted parts of Tim’s posts…usually I can at least see some tenuous reason for her whining, but this time the quoted parts don’t even amount to half the post (even excluding the headline and the footer), which is perfectly fine by any reasonable standard.

    1. David Marr, the marrster HYPOCRITE

    1. Hype, hullabaloo, storm in a teapot.
What everyone forgets, what an insignificant, pompous bore Alan Jones is.
I became aware of him only 2 years ago (15 years of ignorant immigrant bliss before), he has a regular spot on Channel 9’s morning show.
He is just so tedious, so dull, and so lazy. His comments are basically just quoting other people’s articles, passing this base trickery off as his opinion…

    1. Wait just a minute.  Wasn’t David Marr the host or somethingorother of Media Watch?  What a farce.

    1. #7 –  He may be all of that and a scruncher not a folder, but it’s no reason to call him a paedophile.

    1. #7 Yeah, here in South Australia we have a better class of ‘shock jock’.  Sydney-centric Masters and all his ABC clan are obsessed with Jones simply because they think he’s dangerously influential.  Hello?
Who runs NSW and all the other state governments?
As a hick South Australian [know who that is?] I only knew Jones when he had a short run on TV.  He was slick and had good subjects, but he was hardly sophisticated or subtle.
Andrew Bolt deserves his salary, but he’s too ‘straight’ to ever get it..

    1. David Marr should be down on his knees thanking Allah for Hilali’s timely comments regarding predatorial felines – he’s been blown off the front page. His reputation may well survive his recent despicable bout of hypocrisy, even though it doesn’t deserve to.

    1. btw Inciters this week starred Fran Kelly,Farr and Piers Akerman.
The deputy secretary of state U.S. was a very interesting speaker,Red Bazza Cassidy tried several times to wind him up but was unsuccessful.Talking pics with Warren Brown,John Howard the P.M. was caricatured -with his head on a stick, trussed up and being carried on a pole between two “headhunters”,naked and sunburnt/embarrassed.
O and the ABC was SO concerned at the Vic ALP’S unauthorised use of a rigged up interview with Ted Ballieu -that they showed it again.
