Gough Whitlam was dismissed as Prime Minister on the 11th of November, 1975. Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Gough’s wonderful sacking this Friday night (from 7pm) at the Bellevue Hotel (a Labor pub), 159 Hargrave Street, Paddington. (Toby has organised this and selected the venue; the Wogblogger promises to attend; so too does the Investigate staff; other journalistic/political/alcohol-craving identities are also likely to show up.)
Courtesy of the planet’s most generous readers, all the booze is on me. May well we say God save the Queen, because nothing will save Saturday morning!
