Another failed terrorist attack in the UK:

Two men rammed a flaming Jeep Cherokee into the main terminal of Glasgow airport Saturday, crashing into the glass doors at the entrance in what appeared to be the third attempted terror attack on Britain in two days, witnesses said.

Police wrestled the two men to the ground – one of them engulfed in flames – arresting both and taking one to the hospital …

Hundreds fled screaming from the terminal as one of the men poured gasoline over the Jeep and tried to force it further inside the terminal, one witness said.

Something may be up at England’s Blackpool Airport, too. Presbyterians are mighty frisky lately.

UPDATE. An AP timeline of these murder attempts.

‘SUV Plummets Off Cliff’, ‘SUV Robs Bank’, etc.

I think we’ll find that the passengers riding in the vehicle are innocent and their religion played no role in their subsequent actions inside the terminal. They were in fact the real victims.

Bad, bad SUV! Who KILLED the electric car?

It’s passé for “leaders” to lead, these days. They need a committee so that any blame can be dissipated to the extent that there is no one to blame if things go pear-shaped IF they actually make a decision to do something. Or anything.

My philosophy is: Lead, follow, or GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY.

    1. The fellow being interviewed was perfectly understandable.

      Perhaps he wasn’t Glaswegian?

My youngest sister, while in high school, was invited to tour Norway and Britain with an American college choir that was giving concerts one summer. They toured Britain first, and after finishing there, were to fly to Oslo.

My sister decided, since there were a few days before their next concert, she’d take the train to Glasgow, and leave from there for Norway. (Our multi-great grandfather apparently stopped there briefly in 1816 on his way from Ireland to America, via Hamburg. It must have made sense at the time. That, or his uncle was as lost as he was.)

She got off the train, and had to cross town to catch the next leg of the trip, and having no idea how to proceed, asked a likely-looking young man how to get to where she needed to go. And he gave her full, complete, clear directions. Clear to him, we assume.

She understood not one single solitary word. Not so much as “a” or “the”.

After a brief awkward pause, he realized that she was either simple, or a tourist, and took her by the hand and walked with her halfway across town to her destination.

      Incomprehensible, but apparently friendly folk.

    1. I have to go with pommygranate.  So far these jihadi wannabes haven’t managed to kill anybody (unless Mr. BBQ dies of his burns), or even cause a spectacular amount of damage.  This was another blatant attempt to humiliate the British so the jihadis could brag to the Muslim world that they “forced” the withdrawal of Britain from the Middle East.  Unfortunately, the attempt made them look like idiots.  Al-Qaida must be very disappointed at the quality of the troops they’re attracting these days.

Still, idiots can get lucky, so we’ll all have to maintain our vigilance for the foreseeable future.

    1. As I understand it Galloway was beaten up by a bunch of Orangemen (if you don’t know don’t bother asking) who were returning to Glasgow from a “walk” in London, I believe Galloway is a fan of the Celts.

I am delighted to read that the ‘bombers’ were caught and given a good thumping too I understand by local bystanders rather than the one policeman present. It certainly restores my faith in Glasgwegians.

I have a good friend who used to be a tour representative for holiday charter flights to Spain from the UK. He would have to go to the airport early each morning to meet the different flights, he would usually approach each arriving group of holiday makers to find out where they were from, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham etc. He never had to ask about the Glasgow flight, he told me you could spot them halfway across the concourse opening their cans of MacEwans beer and lighting up their fags and singing bawdy football songs, this would be at five in the morning mark you.

      Fined for tackling shop thieves
A HERO shopkeeper was fined £250 yesterday — because he tackled three hoodie thieves.

Brave Jacob Smyth, 33, chased and caught the yobs after they grabbed armfuls of spray paint from his hardware store.

Suppose the FBI National Office did not worry about CAIR and gave permission for that agent to look at Mousausi’s hard drive and in doing so allowed the FBI to roll up the whole gang.  It would have been hysterical.  The dumb terrorist going to flight school to learn how to take off and fly but not land.  The “last testament” of Ata asking for women not to touch his body after death (lest they touch (or really want to touch) his manliness).

Some things can only be given credibility by intellectuals, normal people are not that stupid. (with apologies to George Orwell)

In every western country you look at, you see it happening…the slow but sure realization that the individuals we have elected to govern us are worthless when the chips are down. Daily the major media is shown to have their own agenda…and that agenda as more to do with politics than it does with giving complete and honest information. Sixty years of relative peace is the culprit.

    1. #56 Check this out from my joke supply

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon, from New York, says, “I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.”

The second, from Chicago, responds, “Yeah, but you should try electricians!
Everything inside them is color coded.”

The third surgeon, from Dallas, says, “No, I really think Librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order.”

The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: “You know, I like construction workers……those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over.”

But the fifth surgeon, from Washington DC, shut them all up when he observed:  “You’re all wrong.  Politicians are the easiest to operate on…….there’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no backbone, and the head and the arse are interchangeable.”

There may be a few exceptions, but not many!!

    1. What is ironic, is that the humanitarian nature of the West has contributed to a massive worldwide Muslim population explosion over the last 100 years, through charities and goodwill programs, increasing the Muslim population of the world from a few hundred million to 1.6 billion.

This kindness has resulted in burgeoning demand for emigration from Islamic countries to the West.
It would be especially ironic if this Western kindness results in a catastrophe for the world; it is only a matter of time before one of these Islamic fundamentalists gets their hands on a nuke.

    1. A POLICEMAN has emerged a hero after defusing a bomb that was two minutes from exploding in a fireball that could have killed hundreds of partygoers outside a London nightclub.

As police inspected the Mercedes that was “smoking”—apparently vapours from more than 60 litres of petrol inside—the officer braved choking fumes to dismantle a mobile phone on the dashboard as a detonator.

Police later discovered a second car bomb in an underground car park as a massive manhunt began for the potential bomber and his terrorist cell.

Police said the second car was to go off 15 minutes after the first bombing.
