    1. The political merry go round continues. Hawke and Keating were economic rationalists to some degree. Floating the dollar was rational and uncomfortable at first, just as recognising that the world needs a more rational approach to trade has caused discomfort. Who started “micro-economic” reform? Tariffs and agricultural subsidies have to go, painful as that process is. Globalisation is not all evil.
What remains in need of rational reform is our tendency to accept the precepts of the politically correct brigades.
The holy cows of multiculturalism and fake compassion over human rights and civil liberties will weaken our society’s cohesiveness.
      We must be rational about:
1.The need to be discriminatory in who comes here.
      2. The need to be protective against those who have already come here but do not wish to assimilate, and in fact work to the detriment of our society.
      3. The need to respect Christianity despite the fact that it is not the local bully demanding respect.
4.Conservative views are not automatically evil, any more than liberal views.

  1. Is that Menzies Out Now (or whatever) graffiti still on a wall somewhere in Melbourne?

Come to think of it, wasn’t there one about Billy Hughes being an imperialist?
