It’s just a bunch of quotes.

    1. It was an excellent choice of quotes Tim.

      Loved it.

The illustration was a very nice touch. Was it done by the same team who did “Hello Whaley”?

    1. I’m greatly looking forward to this year’s Quotes Megamix, blog style.

    1. Climate change gives us drought and flooding rains. Just getting warmed up.

    1. I love Tim’s writing it always gets me thinking, laughing or cranky.  This last piece however just made me feel like I belong to a society of stupid people.

We really need to stop the stupid people speaking in public – lol

Great job Tim but it still doesnt beat the Polar Bears

    1. #5 Tim’s a great writer, Killaette. There’s no denying that.

On the plus side, it wasn’t supposed to be us that felt like idiots after reading it. I suspect the idea was that those who completely agree with it are idiots, and those of us who disagree with most or all of it, have a great sense of humour.

      Tim continues to be sneaky.

    1. “I’m a man of moderate means.” – Peter Garrett, worth around $15 million

Tim, Peter has a point.  He is comparing himself to his boss Kevni and to fellow parliamentarian Malcolm Turnbull.

    1. This is yet another sign of the widespread climate change that we are seeing unfold across the globe.” – meteorologist Matt Pearce, following Australia’s warmest May on record. The next month was the coldest June since 1950.

I am still finding distressed plants in my garden affected by last winter’s frosts.  The top half of the mango tree turned brown and is now gone.  The bird of paradise had its tips singed and looks funny but has survived.  All tips of the frangipani tree have been damaged and new growth has sprouted from lower down the branches.  This is the first time in its twenty three years that the frangipani has been affected in this way.  It is climate change but not the way Matt Pearce imagines.

    1. #10 Tim, give Dave and the team extra presents this holidays. That work is brilliant!

Oh, and for every hour of work, throw in an extra for Dave from me.

      I must contribute!

    1. I was shocked, I tell you, to read on the column page an advertisement to “join the crusade” to save whales. In our vibrant, sensitive, multicultural Australia, shouldn’t it rather be “join the Jihad” to save whales?

Crossie, methinks that Garrett is comparing himself to his religious icon, The Goreacle™.  Garrett is indeed a man of modest means compared to Him™.

    1. Re #7, thanks for the warning, Ash.  I’ll be sure to stay out of Wyoming this Christmas season.  ;-p

Or maybe he got the words ‘means’ and ‘abilities’ confused, Crossie?

    1. Czech president Vaclav Klaus’ slamming of the Goreacle has to be amongst the international quotes of the year.

    1. “It’s a little bit nerdy and a bit like the Flintstone days, where you’re skipping along with your feet under the car.” – AFL player Chris Judd, a proud new Toyota Prius owner.

I bet he’s waiting to exchange it for the new Prius Priapic.

    1. “I can’t understand why there aren’t rings of young people blocking bulldozers and preventing them from constructing coal-fired power plants.” – Al Gore.

Just another thing Al doesn’t understand

Maybe all the Chinese young people saw a film of what happened to their anti-tank buddies at Tianenman Square, Al dear?  They have plenty of scope otherwise in China, where a new coal-fired power plant is opened every week…
