The CFMEU’s new anti-government ad features a coal miner calling for John Howard to sign the Kyoto protocol, and demanding a government that will “take climate change seriously”.

Very well. If the CFMEU is so concerned about climate change, why doesn’t it call upon its members to down tools – or, even better, to quit coal mining completely?

(And check out the opening scene, said to depict the Murray-Darling Basin. You think the speaker looks slightly, perhaps artificially, shrunken relative to those towering dead trees? Well, maybe I’m too suspicious; for all I know, that’s Andrew Jaspan out there.)
