Economist John Hawksworth figures it’s worth spending $1 trillion to reduce greenhouse emissions, and offers a difficult moral question:
“If sea levels rise and a lot of people in Bangladesh drown do you calculate the loss of their lifetime earnings, even though they will be lower than for the UK? It is a difficult moral question,” Mr Hawksworth said.
An even more difficult question: why would Rezwan and his countrymen simply stand there for decades while the sea slowly rose to a level capable of drowning them?

UPDATE. The Dutch have been fighting the sea for centuries. Bangladeshis would likely be as resourceful, should the need arise.
