Pro-blogger Andrew West breaks his weekdays-only rule to post major important news of a massive drop in support for Bush and his oil-drenched cabal of Halliburtonistas. A number of emailers have demanded that I post on this myself; why, I have no idea. Bush’s popularity is an unmoored statistic; he can’t run again, so his approval rating isn’t measured against any actual opponent. Equally, it wouldn’t be significant if Bush’s approval was at 58%. Recall that Clinton left office with great numbers, yet his Democrat successor—Dore? Thor? Ali McGraw? something like that—lost.
