    1. After going to that online chat, I thought this one sounded even more promising: “Live web chat with the Vietnam Nurses filmmakers!”

I left somewhat disappointed to say the least.

    1. Just another scam.
Reminds me of my last trip to Bangkok.
Bitch leant into the drivers side showing her form to distract me whilst her mate sussed out the contents of the front seat.
Anyway I gave them a lift ‘cause they said they had missed the bus.
Strewth, a hundred metres and the one with the biguns tried to give me oral….ah strewth…sex…whilst the other tried to steal my wallet!!!
Happened to me Wed, Thur, Fri.
Guess they took the weekend off….couldn’t I couldn’t find them anywhere.
Just be careful out there, is all I’m saying.

You’ve never watched Sex and the City?

Let’s just say it has ears, and leave it at that.

    1. off topic, but note the loony piece in today’s Australian by our beloved playwright David Williamson:
“Artists and public intellectuals (wtf, who they?) have been attacked with a shrillness that has no precedent in our history.”

What sort of ‘shrillness calibrator’ does this guy use?

    1. Did you see the Dateline program last night? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
They attempted to quote the “bizarre reaction” to the release of the so-called new Abu Ghraib pictures in the U.S. by showing a clip from Fox’s Bill O’Reilly program. The Fox Network aired a number of emails from people who dissented from the O’Reilly position and savaged him. SBS on the other hand, the self-proclaimed champion of free speech and diversity of opinion, who criticises Fox for it outrageous bias, routinely CENSORS much of the criticism directed at them!

    1. When “Vietnam Nurses” was shown on SBS in early September, there were something like 15 pages of comments and live webchat with the Army nurses featured in the documentary.

Amazingly for most SBS docos, there was hardly one single negative comment in the whole chat forum, and even the resident moonbats stayed in their caves.

It was a great doco that told the story, then and now, of some of the Army nurses who looked after Australian casualties during the Vietnam war.

Bloody shame the hackers got to the comments.

Ok, I admit it.  I was thinking to myself, well, hmmm, if I got into that situation, I could hide my wallet, let the one work hard to keep me distracted and tell other to keep looking for that wallet.

And yes, I would probably do that Wed, Thur, and Fri.  Mind you this will probably never happen to me.  But a good neocon always has a contingency plan, just in case.

Williamson’s shrillness-ometer might be on the money because my fuckwit-ometer is showing 11 out of 10 when I read his articles.

    1. He has constructed a straw Mcmansion Man in order to say that the shrill critics are wrong because their straw-straya man is one dimensional, just plays cricket in the backyard, and the critics fail to appreciate the multi faceted nature of the average Orstraylian. Or something.
What if those of us who do actually live in middle Australia, in ageing housing stock, and who do have an emphasis on family and relationships (and the odd visit to the Art Gallery) still think you are a dickhead for writing that article? The arts community have a case to answer – their self-indulgence is breathtaking. Their repeated anti-Howard diatribes are not going to get a ticket price from me. Unfortunately, as Andrew Bolt correctly points out, there are too many subsidies going to stupid projects.
And don’t even think about sending the culture police around to confiscate my consumer durables.
