How is the BBC’s attempt to overcome its stupid liberalism going? Not so well:
Politicians reacted in disbelief to the revelation that for over two hours yesterday, the BBC News website carried a request for people in Iraq to report on troop movements.
The request was removed from the website after it sparked furious protests that the corporation was endangering the lives of British servicemen and women.
According to accounts last night, a story on a major operation by US and Iraqi troops against al-Qa’eda somewhere north of Baghdad contained an extraordinary request for information about the movement of troops.
Last night the BBC confirmed the wording of the request was: “Are you in Iraq? Have you seen any troop movements? If you have any information you would like to share with the BBC, you can do so using the form below.”
The article continues: “A spokesman was unable to offer a detailed explanation of why anyone at the BBC should be seeking such information.” I can think of a few reasons.
- The BBC prolly has too much interest in others’ movements … only 1 sheet per movement, now: per Sheryl Crow.Posted by egg_ on 2007 06 20 at 05:40 AM • permalink
- This would a good reason for the British security services to go through the BBC staff list with a fine tooth comb and get the multitude of sympathisers that they find (not all of whom are named Mohammed) to “help them with their enquiries” for a few years.
They won’t though. They are scared of all the seething and howling from the Usual Suspects.
Better that many British soldiers die than one immigrant be “offended”.

- Times have changed. Anyone remember when treason was a capital offense? Times were when those responsible were hauled outside, lined up against a wall, offered a blindfold and a cigarette, and promptly shot. Looks like I’ve been left behind. I simply do not understand these new rules of war. Somehow, we’re expected to fight an enemy while simultaneously defending the traitors in our midst from harm while they tireless seek to undermine all our efforts by providing invaluable intel for the enemy. It leaves me confused.
- #5 Texas Bob, I think that anyone who has ever served would agree with you 100%.
The sad thing is that today’s widespread treason by the western media is very effective at giving comfort and aid to the enemy. The pissant efforts at treachery solved by firing squads in earlier wars were relatively insignificant.
- #5, Texas Bob:
USMC recruting adverts on youtube. Compiled into one vid. 6 mins and 43 seconds long but if you fast forward to the last 20 seconds or so and listen, you might find it interesting.
They’re qouting a select portion of the oath of enlistment and repeating it over and over. You think someone might be sending out a warning to our domestic enemy?
- The perpertrator of this treasonist act should be strung up, horse-whipped, castrated, (it’s the BBC – male or female would have the same attributes) and then shot.Posted by surfmaster on 2007 06 20 at 07:02 AM • permalink
- Seems like the one of the bright-line examples of treason was reporting on troop movements during hostile activities when I was taught it. Yep. ‘Course the other was reporting classified military information, which is the NYT’s preferred modus proditio.
Oh well, since I’m in a high-falutin’ mood, I’ll only say that the logical end result of the “Question Authority” movement was always destined to be anarchy among the Princes what ruled by Love and despostism among the Princes what ruled by Fear.
- Grimmy, I can’t get to the link right now, but I have little doubt that it goes something like:
…I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. With special emphasis on domestic so that it actually sounds more like:
…I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and mother fucking domestic traitorous pricks…

- O/T excerpt from today’s Brisbane Times. This fellow is obviously a relative…
Brisbane’s District Court this morning heard Mr Blair had showed up at Wilson’s Birkdale unit, in Redland Shire, where he took amphetamines before having a shower.
Whilst in the bathroom, Mr Blair began pleasuring himself, before moving to Wilson’s bedroom, where he rolled around naked on her bed and continued his lewd conduct.
He returned to the bathroom for more and was busted by Wilson, who was attempting to bath her three-and-a-half year-old daughter.
The court heard Mr Blair refused her repeated requests to stop, prompting her to fetch a knife from the kitchen which she used to stab him twice in the left shoulder.
Crown prosecutors said Mr Blair paused only to put on his shorts and flee outside to wait for police to arrive, but was again overcome by the urge.
“Despite his injury, it seems (Mr Blair) continued to masturbate while in the garage,” the prosecutor said.
Police took him to hospital where he received treatment for the minor stab wounds.
- The BBC remains captive to its culture, as is the Democrat party in the USA. Nancy Pelosi has been exposed at Powerline.
- #22 I saw that Barbara Plett on Beeb World moments after reading that the BBC’s report on bias seems enabled to name her alone among other reporters readily identifiable by context, because she was already outed and a ready scapegoat. She did make a particular goose of herself over Arafat—no more farm animals, I promise, if I mention pigs it will bring the site down—but I felt the beginnings of sympathy. (And she still has her job.)
- Geez JonathanH, seems like Mr Blair is a horndog of the highest pedigree. Personally, I find being stabbed repeatedly a serious turn-off. After the second jab, I’m typically thinking about something besides masturbation. The guy is like spider monkey. A spider monkey with a chemical dependency, that is.

Actually, he only felt a little prick.

- #28 Grimmy, I’m on-board with that. American leftards are perpetually stuck on the Rage setting, lack any sense of humor, devoid of any thoughts not involving self, oppose personal hygene and refuse to think for themselves. Kind of like really pissed off babies, forgotten and left in a supermarket shopping basket.
- Except for
..devoid of any thoughts not involving self
..
that almost sounds like you’re poking fun at me. My extensive porn collection should serve to prove that I sometimes think of someone other than myself but usually in a manner that involves me too.
Ok, I guess I’m busted on that angle too. I do only think of myself but occasionally add thoughts of wimmen mixed in with myself.
I still hate leftards though.
Oh, and I bathe every saturday, whether I need to or not.

Thinks…
Thinks some more…..
Bugger it, Blair, you’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din! Several reasons, eh?Been thinking about this since you posted that comment. And y’know, the only reason I can come up with is….

- #22 nearly richard, but Hamas is the BBC’s dog in this fight.
When the BBC has two competing anti-zionist/-western/-civilisation/-humanity organisations to choose from, they go for the ones with the bigger/better beards.

- #34 Grimmy, I always took your name literally and gave it no further thought. I’d expect something different if you were called Squeaky Cleany or some such. And although I oppose porn whole heartedly, I suppose there could be some redeeming qualities…
Hmmm…
Can’t think of any, so maybe not.Porn, like on-line gambling, just can’t hold a candle to the real thing. It’s like visiting a virtual bar, ordering a virtual drink and virtually getting drunk. I’d rather be there in person and die from 2nd hand smoke inhalation. It’s just so much more fun that way.
- Liberalism? Bah, John Locke would be rolling around in his grave.

- I have a lady friend who’s dad was in some controversial footage during the IRA’s campaign.
He and his squaddies were being shot at from locations unknown, while running for cover he came around the corner and was confronted by a BBC reporter shoving a microphone at his face. The reporter suffered a lead enema immediately and lay down to sleep it off. The footage concludes with this ladies dad holding his head in his hands realising it was a microphone not a pistol pointed at his head.
He was officaly “demoted” upwards to a training position.
I think hed be a lot happier with the results of his snap shot today compared to when he took it.

- Apparently, not content to undermine just Britain, the BBC wants to expand its presence in other countries. Check out the following strange quote from Garth Ancier, president of BBC America: “I think with George W. Bush’s approval rating at 29 per cent, having a news broadcast with a neutral, British, BBC approach is well-timed.” Translation: Now that he’s down, we don’t have to be afraid of joining with our comrades in the American press in piling on. I wonder if the BBC will show any interest in discussing political figures with similarly low approval ratings, such as Senator Harry Reid (or the entire U.S. Congress, for that matter).
Speaking of matters journalistic, don’t miss Iowahawk’s latest Inspector Dan Rather story. The series is so good, I’ve printed them out and put them in a binder (H/T to the always vigilant and well-informed J.M. Heinrichs).
- # 38. When the BBC has two competing anti-zionist/-western/-civilisation/-humanity organisations to choose from, they go for the ones with the bigger/better beards.
Or perhaps they go for the one that was actually elected by the Palestinian people…in an election ‘The Middle East’s only Democracy’ decided it didn’t like the results of and so attempted (and in the West Bank succeeded) to overthrow.
- #5 Tbob, as far as I’m concerned, treason still is a capital offence. I just wish the judiciary would remember, too.Posted by Nilknarf Arbed on 2007 06 20 at 08:27 AM • permalink

- How about we just follow the law, custom and tradtion regarding all those who adhere to the cause of the enemy during a time of war?
You are enemy Huckabee. No less so than the jihadi you stand beside and support and deserving of no different treatment.
All enemy, foreign and domestic. All who have sworn the oath of enlistment are oath bound to oppose you as a blood enemy. The day is not so far off where that will begin in earnest.

- #51: C’mon, Huck! If the American press were previously either as slavishly pro-Bush as you seem to imagine, or just thoroughly cowed by Karl Rove’s well-documented reputation for driving around town in his drop-top limousine and firing a Glock at journalists on foot, wouldn’t that have been the time for the BBC to give us that heart-of-oak, roastbeef-of-old-england, stiff-upper-lip, neutral, British approach to news reporting?
- Good to see it took just one leftoid troll to remind me why I wasn’t missing them at all here. Seriously, are these guys all reading from the same cue sheet? The basic formula hasn’t seemed to changed much in four years or longer, down to the ultra-dumb “Bush smuggled the bin Ladens out of the country” claim.
- #83. ‘WASHINGTON — Americans overwhelmingly support congressional action to cap the number of U.S. troops in Iraq and set a timetable to bring them home by the end of next year, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds — tougher action than the non-binding resolution the House of Representatives is to begin debating today.’
- #87 Yup. You’d think by now they’d have latched on to some new outlandish claim.
Hey Huck, toy around with this: George Bush funded the 911 hijackers with that lost Enron money.
Or how about: George HW Bush paid Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait, paving the way for George W Bush to re-invade Iraq for all that oil. They actually filmed that so-called Saddam execution at Area 51 (next to the Lunar Landing Movie Set ©). Saddam now runs a casino in Atlantic City and goes by the name Guido Langenschwanz.
- action to cap the number of U.S. troops
Its not the number of troops that need “capping” is it huck?

I don’t give a fuck about polls and neither should anybody who’s remotely serious about government, policy and constitutional democratic process.
I’ve seen your type come and go. You’re as stupid as you are boring as you are retarded. We’re not interested in engaging you in debate because anybody who opens up with some spiel straight from a Michael Moore movie. It reveals that you derive your knowledge of history from the intellectual gutter and that your are a total fucking lightweight.
Now listen carefully…
TAKE YOUR FUCKING POLL AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR WELL WORN ARSE!
- Huck,
You and your allies would be a lot more convincing if you were even a little more consistent.
Ron Paul won election in his District by a convincing majority. By your reasoning re: Hamas, that means you and the DNC ought to be supporting him without question or argument, and sending him millions to convince him to establish a dialogue.
Similarly, your gleeful citing of polls would be somewhat more persuasive if you also cited the results of every poll taken on the subject, viz., that the only people less popular than Bush nowadays are Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the Democratic leaders of Congress—that is, the people who solemnly assured American voters that it was all about the “culture of corruption”, and nothing to do with Iraq, no, sir, word of honor—then, once in office, gave a mighty horselaugh-and-raspberry and announced that it was all about Iraq and nothing but, and the only thing wrong with the culture of corruption was that they weren’t getting a big enough cut from the proceeds.
It would be even better, for you, if anything you and your friends espoused or demanded contained any trace of liberalism. Clue: recreating the Scottsboro Incident, on a national scale and with the polarity reversed, does not qualify.
Regards,
Ric
- Bring the troops home.
Home to your place, Huckabee? So they can kick their boots off, I suppose.
So, why not invite all those improvised-explosive-device-planting, mosque-bombing, child-killing, Jihad-crazed “victims of this unfair war” over too?
Your kids can serve plates of nibblies, while your wife passes Champagne around in tall flutes to celebrate the shared soul of mankind. Please, mind the antique crockery…
Party at Huckabee’s!

- I’d be careful pushing Huckabebe with digging for evidence. He might find that video, surpressed by the Prez, which proves that fire can’t melt steel. Or the one which the Prez falls off a Segway and loses control over the illegal war. And if he discovers the evidence compiled by FrankJ at IMAO, he’ll totally throw down on you.
Cheers

- Here you go, Huckabee.
(I haven’t read this thread in detail yet, so forgive if this repeats anything).
- Someone should let Huck know that his beloved democratic congress that was elected last November now has the lowest poll numbers ever attained since they kept records. They are sitting at 14% with the previous lowest being the 1991-1994 democratic congress at 18%. When it comes to congress and immigration they are sitting at 3%. Check it out at Insty.
I would say offhand that Huck and his democrats are not faring too well in their “progressive” legislation.
- Back to the topic, the BBC has form on this kind of thing. In 1982 when British troops (2 Para, if I recall correctly) were planning to re-take Darwin and Goose Green when the BBC World Service announced their location. With all element of surprise gone, the troops carried out the operation and defeated the Argentinians. Their CO won a posthumous VC.
- Oh good grief, Huckabee, your proof is a poll in USA Today? Now that’s just pathetic.Posted by Andrea Harris, Administrator on 2007 06 21 at 06:05 AM • permalink
