Giancarlo Fisichella is on pole following the second qualifying session. Jacques Villeneuve thinks only mechanical problems can prevent a Fisichella victory:
Former world champion Jacques Villenueve was fourth-fastest in his Sauber, but believes the qualifying results have handed the race to Fisichella. “If the Renaults don’t blow up they will win,” he said.
We’ll see. Of the top five, Fisichella is the only driver who can beat Mark Webber (3rd overall, and fastest in the second session). Watch for some of the quicker drivers at the rear of the grid to barge forward early then fade as their tyres die; no replacement rubber is allowed, so caution is required during full-tank running. Michael Schumacher (18th) may still win this. Complete grid follows; race to start in 20 minutes:
1. Fisichella
2. Trulli
3. Webber
4. Villeneuve
5. Coulthard
6. Klien
7. Heidfeld
8. Button
9. Montoya
10. Raikkonen
11. Barrichello
12. Karthikeyan
13. Alonso
14. Monteiro
15. R Schumacher
16. Friesacher
17. Albers
18. M. Schumacher
19. Sato
20. Massa
- I’m rooting for Fisichella. Didn’t he used to coach the St. John basketball team?Posted by wronwright on 03/05 at 09:11 PM • #
