VILE MURDERING SCUM HAVE FEELINGS TOO
Oh no! Unpleasant words are being used to describe sub-human terrorist filth:
The terrorists who attacked London should be condemned. But in describing them as “sub-human filth who must be captured and eliminated”, Kim Beazley has lowered himself to their moral level. No matter how repugnant their actions, no human being should be described in that way. To do so might be popular, but it is to take the first step towards genocide lawlessness. Once more, Beazley has shown himself unworthy to lead the Labor Party, let alone the nation. The quicker the party gets rid of him the better.
William R. Stent, Rosanna
Nicholas Gruen is also concerned. Like sensitive Mr Stent, however, Nicholas offers no alternative description he’d be happier with. Please contribute possible examples in comments.
UPDATE. And in The Australian …
I expected more of Kim Beazley in response to the London bombings than calling the terrorists “sub-human filth”. We did not hear this kind of stuff from Ken Livingstone the Mayor of London who was eloquent as well as passionate in his response to the tragedy. Surely it is time for a more intelligent analysis.
Paul Durham
Maleny, QldOne local intellectual giant has characterised the London terrorists as “sub-human filth” – just one more of the vacuous remarks that have come to characterise the leader of the federal flopposition.
