SQUIRRELS ARRESTED
Iran captures fourteen surveillance squirrels:
Iranian intelligence operatives recently detained over a dozen squirrels found within the nation’s borders, claiming the rodents were serving as spies for Western powers determined to undermine the Islamic Republic.
“In recent weeks, intelligence operatives have arrested 14 squirrels within Iran’s borders,” state-sponsored news agency IRNA reported. “The squirrels were carrying spy gear of foreign agencies, and were stopped before they could act, thanks to the alertness of our intelligence services.”
In other legal developments, Mohamed Haneef - detained in Brisbane following the attempted London/Glasgow attacks - has now been charged:
Mohamed Haneef faced Brisbane Magistrates Court charged with providing support to a terrorist organisation by allegedly “recklessly” providing his SIM card to UK terror suspects Sabeel and Kafeel Ahmed when he left the UK for Australia last year.
This convicted terror supporter won’t be heard from for a while:
A Pennsylvania man was convicted on Friday of plotting to blow up U.S. oil pipelines and energy installations and of attempting to enlist al Qaeda militants on the Internet to help carry out his plan.
A federal jury of six women and six men took a little more than an hour to convict Michael Curtis Reynolds, 49, on those charges and of possessing a hand grenade. He faces a maximum 57 1/2 years in prison.
