SMH REVEALS LINK
Headline in the Sydney Morning Herald: “Failed London bomb attacks linked to Iraq: report”. Their source for this? One of the bombers:
A suspect in the failed London bombings on July 21 said the attempted attack was revenge for the US-led military operation in Iraq, according to a newspaper report.
“The bombs of July 7 in London? That happens every day in Iraq,” the suspect, Osman Hussain, was quoted as saying by the daily La Repubblica newspaper during his interrogation.
Osman is right, of course; attacks by suicidal pro-Saddam lunatics do indeed happen every day in Iraq. Difficult to see how this would encourage someone to do the same in London, however.
