Separate groups of gunmen entered two primary schools in Baghdad and beheaded two teachers in front of their students, the Ministry of State for National Security said.
Pro-Baathist Antony Loewenstein (“The defeat of America and its allies in Iraq is vital ...”) possibly accepts this as a necessary cost of war. It might be interesting to read his take on events like these; it’d be interesting, as well, to read something from him explaining to pro-liberation Iraqis why their defeat is “vital”.
UPDATE. In other Iraq developments:
The chief judge in the trial of Saddam Hussein said on Wednesday that the signature of the deposed Iraqi dictator on new documents related to the Dujail massacre were “verified by experts and found to be authentic”.
UPDATE II. Hopefully, the beheading story may not be true. Via Jim Lindgren:
Iraq’s Ministry of State for National Security said on Wednesday two groups of gunmen entered two primary schools in Baghdad and beheaded two teachers in front of their students.
But the U.S. military and a police official said the attacks never took place.
