LITTLE KNOWN
Asked about his 2001 love note to Osama bin Laden, cartoonist Michael Leunig replied:
And we were, so little we knew about him and still so little we know about him. I just wanted to raise it and I, I stick by that. I stick by that to this day.
We know a little more about him now:
Bin Laden said the publication of the cartoons was a graver offence than the ‘’bombing of modest villages that collapsed over our women children’’.
‘’This is the bigger catastrophe and the more dangerous one and for which the punishment is graver.’’
