GRIM WEEPER

Cooling caused warmening at the UN’s Bali gigglefest:

The air-conditioning system installed to keep more than 10,000 delegates cool used highly damaging refrigerant gases - as lethal to the atmosphere as 48,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, and nearly the equivalent of the emissions of all aircraft used to fly delegates to Indonesia.

With hawk-eyed representatives of more than 100 green organisations present, it was probably the worst place in the world to commit an environmental faux pas.

Senior climate goon Yvo de Boer may have missed it, due to crying:

"He wasn’t just wiping his eyes, he was in floods of tears,” said one observer.

"Three colleagues - one of them a woman - formed a protective group around him and escorted him out of the hall. It was all very dramatic."

Mr de Boer’s breakdown came after nearly a fortnight of squabbling over proposals to cut carbon emissions.

Someone needs a hug.
