FULL FORWARD FOUCAULT
The Guardian reports:
Of all the football leagues for all the players in the world, the Australian Football League is the first to sponsor research that overtly applies the work of the French philosopher Michel Foucault.
I guess that explains the new play-like-a-girl rules. In other French thinker developments, Jean-Francois Revel died last week at 82:
As a rule, Europe has not been well-served by its public intellectuals. German philosopher Martin Heidegger was a Nazi apologist; French writer Jean-Paul Sartre was famously soft on Stalin; German novelist Günter Grass opposed German reunification; Portuguese novelist José Saramago supported an aborted Communist coup d’etat, and ... well, it’s a long list.
But an exception was Jean-Francois Revel.
