UPDATE VI. Whale Spinor reports:
I had two of my four daughters up in Brisbane from S Aust over the last week and they went back tonight. We spent today at the pub. I disgraced myself, in my wife’s eyes anyway, by moving to an area where I could watch the cricket. My youngest daughter (god bless her) at least understands cricket, and as I came out for well deserved refills she said things like “what’s Dizzy on now?”. And I said, over time, “130’s, 140’s ... 180’s, 190”. And as he was in the 190’s about 30 people materialised around the screen and everyone cheered as he got his 200.
I don’t care if they are looked upon as cricketing minnows—in fact we barely managed to avoid the follow-on against them in the first Test. The pitch was turning and some balls were keeping low but Dizzy faced 425 balls over what, a day and a half and made 201 runs undefeated.
Good onya Jason.
Yes indeed.
UPDATE VII. Gillespie abandons a nudity plan:
"He [Matthew Hayden] reckoned he’s going to do a nude run of the oval if I got 200. I said if I got 200, I’d do a nude lap too. Not sure about that one, being in a Muslim country, I don’t think it’ll be perceived right, unlike anywhere else."
