DOCTORS DODGED
I’m out of hospital - now at home under the stern and watchful care of Nadia and my retired-nurse mother, shown here with her seemingly developmentally-delayed son (on seeing this shot, mum said: “Is he supposed to look like that?”)
About 40 staples were gently yanked yesterday afternoon; remaining dozens of stitches are the slowly self-dissolving kind. Pain and tiredness decreasing every day. Final column on the subject this Saturday in the Daily Telegraph, after which - solemn cancer-beater vow - I’ll return to writing about other people.
As always, massive thanks to all readers and emailers. Couldn’t have done it without you.
