WILMA STRIKES; LARGE, FLESHY GENTLEMEN HARDEST HIT

Andrea Harris, Steve H., and Florida Cracker are all posting live from WilmaWorld. “If the storm comes in as a Cat 3,” writes Cracker, “I plan to resort to cannibalism.” Followed by this update:

We’re now under the warning. I got dibs on that big, fat man who lives down the street.

  1. John Howard lives just down the road but I think he looks a bit old and tough, I think I would like someone a bit younger and plumper. Peter Costello?

  2. I wouldn’t mind snacking on that cute MP who sits behind Beazley at Question Time (new girl from SA, I think; can’t remember her name).

  3. Good luck to Andrea, Steve and Cracker, (and Cracker, a tip.  Go for the vegetarians).

  4. Slammer: her name is Kate Ellis and, in the event of a hurricane, she’s mine.

    All mine!!

    But you needn’t go without.

  5. So far the power and cable are still on. Usually these things go down when the sun is out and there isn’t a cloud in the sky.

As for cannibalism… ugh, no thanks. I wouldn’t eat another human being if there were no other food on earth. I know what people put in their bodies. But the rest of you go right ahead and eat up that ten-pack-a-day smoker or that guy whose favorite snack is a case of beer and a wad of beef jerky!

  6. This brings to mind another classic South Park - when some townspeople get snowed into the school and cannibalize a Hollywood film crew. PS they were snowed in for one night…

  7. Good luck Andrea. If all else fails...

And don’t forget the anti-storm heavyweights - especially Scholastica.

  8. It’s just raining here, CL. It’s no worse than a bad thunderstorm. People are even working—like the bill collector who just called me.

  9. Glad to hear it. Too bad about the annoyingly industrious bill bloke, however.

  10. According to the National Weather Service radar, the eye has cleared the coast and is out to sea.

Cracker can put his knife and fork away now.

  11. Given all the outrage that black people were affected when Katrina hit the predominantly black New Orleans, won’t anyone draw attention to the fact that Bush’s latest hurricane is targeting white people.

  12. Andrea, Steve and Cracker,
If meat quality and flavour is your major concern my advice would be to go for young female vegetarians that have not yet produced “offspring”. That generally works for deer and other game so keep it in mind for the second the winds hit.

  14. I wouldn’t be surprised to read in my morning paper that Floridians ate each other out of desperation.  Not that it actually happened.  I just wouldn’t be surprised to read it in my morning paper.

  16. #4 CL

Problem with your second offering to Slammer (go without), he’d have to eat fast or it’d spoil quickly. And I think there is a bit more there than Kate…

  17. Kate Ellis - yep, that looks tasty, all right.
Natasha was a smasher in her day too. What is it about SA that it produces such good-looking leftie women? And world-respected wine? And serial killers? Talk about diversity!

  18. I think we need to start measuring hurricanes by how far the average gust can move a James Wolcott…
