  1. They don’t get too many visitors to their site.

  2. and just in case they start blocking access from timblair.net, type into the browser window http://www.greens.org.au and search for polls.
BTW, that is a ridiculously loaded set of questions.  What is the mental age of the person who constructed it?  Or is it a joke?

  6. They’ll argue the poll wasn’t theirs as:

    1) Top of the page has Bob Brown pictured with a woman.

    2) The site had more than the usual 10 visits on any day.

We also have this gem, just in case the poll goes against greenist dogma:

The poll is not scientific and reflects only the opinions of those users who chose to participate. The results should not be considered representative of either users opinions in general, or the public as a whole.

A get out of detention card?

  7. As of 11:35 pm Thursday, 6/23, Eastern Standard Time (USA), they have had 11 votes.

    Talk about being irrelevant.  :-D

  8. I just got the following: “Someone from your IP has already voted in this poll. Please try again later.”

Maybe directly viewing the result gets an IP marked as having voted? Going to http://www.greens.org.au/ and voting on the left may have better results.

Alternatively, thinking with my tinfoil hat on, they might be marking visitors from timblair.net as already having voted.

I didn’t see any polls for nuclear power on the past polls list either; something else I’m looking forward to being democratic on…

  9. Can we Merkins vote in this poll ?  Does anyone care either way ?

I don’t know what is more pathetic:  the apparent lack of interest by anybody in the world in that poll, or the fact that I spent 30 seconds I’ll never get back voting in it.

  11. Hey, Motley Fool: I get exactly the same message.
“Someone from your IP has already voted in this poll. Please try again later.”

Funny that there is no-one else at this IP address that could have possibly voted before.

Liars. But what can you expect from the green moonbats?

I reckon Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea and maybe Canada may be OK…the rest is blocked… ;-)

  13. #6 - Nic, yes, Bob Brown is pictured with a woman, but…it’s Kerry ‘unabrow’ Nettle.

Perhaps they got the shits with the fact a bunch of RWDB’s came and voted for the evil capitalistic meanie option from Tim’s and prevented them from voting.

  16. “Someone from your IP has already voted in this poll. Please try again later. “

Which is quite frankly a load of BS as I control my entire net block and I know that no one on it would have voted.

  17. Same here - Someone from your IP has already voted in this poll. Please try again later.

But I haven’t and I typed it in through another browser. I want my 60 seconds back!

  18. They get a little tired of their polls getting hacked by people who don’t agree with them. I’ve been waging a guerilla voting campaign to upset, annoy, and generally piss-off the IT staff and Greens supporters tasked with running the Greens site. It appears to be working, with wholesale IP banning now in place. At least they haven’t introduced paid membership requirement to vote. Yet.

  22. Hey, it’s the very least I could do for the Australian Greens. My preferred method of support consisted of a large bottle of whisky, a plastic funnel, 5 lts of engine oil, a roll of sturdy gaffer tape, and several inebriated rodents. And access to Bob Brown for several hours. Quick everyone, mental picture!

  23. “Make no change to the harsh current situation. “

There’s something in the wording here that makes me suspect it’s the wrong answer.

  24. Nah, it’s rigged.

Went to the Greens homepage from a computer on a whole separate IP subnet, voted from the front page, then got told someone had already voted.

Nothing like closing down a poll when it becomes clear your minority hard left views aren’t supported by the country…

  25. I couldn’t vote at work after coming through this site. Now I’ve tried again at home using my own dial-up ISP (dynamic IP)and still get the same “This IP already voted”. I did manage to vote on older polls.

I think they’ve either blocked all voting on this poll or just blocked option 4 (I didn’t want to test the other options in case it worked).

You’ll notice the other polls don’t generally have any option that the right/conservatives would be happy with, so they’ve dealt with this ‘stuff up’ by blocking votes.

That’s Left wing democracy for ya.

  26. I just successfully voted (for the second time) for the Howard amendment option (#3). So I guess they’ve just blocked the last option. Yes, well, there we go.

The poll is not scientific and reflects only the opinions of those users who chose to participate. The results should not be considered representative of either users opinions in general, or the public as a whole.

So the above is not a disclaimer but rather a statement of policy.

  28. I take it from the fact that the RWDB option is still out in front - even though you can’t vote for it any more - that the Greens don’t have a very vigorous following in Australia

  31. Let’s not be too hasty here. There’s another way to look at this poll.

A little under half of the total number of respondents advocate substantial change to the draconian immigration policies of the day. This is a resounding endorsement of the Greens’ policy. Brown and Nettle, after all, have established themselves as our moral superiors with less than 8% of the vote.

My guess is they’ll blame the piss weak response on ‘technical difficulties’.

  36. I have been writing to Bob Brown & Kerry Nettle for months complaining about their fascist polls.
I finally got a reply the other week. “Your opinion is noted” was the best they could do.

In March we had a small barby for my Mum’s birthday. I got talking to my sister who is an active member of the greens. After a couple of quiet refreshing ales, I asked her to tell Bob Brown that he needs to starting answering his emails as I had sent him some and had received no reply.

She said “who did you send them to?”
“Bob Brown and that sheila with the penis” was my reply.
Quick as a flash she responds with “Kerry Nettle?”

    Bingo!!!!

    I nearly pissed my pants.
