UNREAD IDIOT DEMANDS RESPECT
Antony Loewenstein takes offence at being described (accurately) as a mere “anti-Zionist blogger”:
Have these people no respect for a best-selling author?
Seeing as Loewenstein has so little respect for himself, why should he expect it from others?
(Via Dr Sam)
Have these people no respect for a best-selling author?
Um, no.
Next question.Posted by tabitharuth on 2006 11 26 at 12:45 AM • permalinkSince I am only an auslander, could someone from Oz please explain the graphic on L’s blog? At first I thought it was a sort of Rohrshach dead bird on its back with its little feet stuck up, but there are too many feet for that.

Every week, bestseller lists are crammed with dreck from certifiable nutjobs. OJ Simpson was poised to become a best selling author until the book got spiked.
By Ant’s standards, why not listen to the Harlequin Romance authors on Middle East issues?
Best-selling authors - a few of them - I respect. Whining drama queens are just a bore.

Okay, you really have to narrow it down more than that…
Posted by richard mcenroe on 2006 11 26 at 01:52 AM • permalinkMate, you could argue that the people who wrote ‘The Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion’ were and are bestsellers, judging by the explosion of it as a reference in the Arab world.
That doesn’t mean we should grant them any respect, you fuckwit. And since you aren’t a bestseller, that gives us even more reason to ridicule you, you deluded dickhead.
Posted by The Best Infidel on 2006 11 26 at 03:57 AM • permalinkBut wait! His book is now discounted from 32.95 to 24.95! They must be selling like hot cakes!
On his site he says this:
This is a non-profit site dedicated to providing timely and challenging material. Any financial contributions would be greatly appreciated, however, to sustain hosting costs and the life of a freelance journalist.
Does this tool even understand what non- profit means? I don’t know how the financials would work with MUP, but lets say he is (generously) given $10 per book @ 800 books, that a tidy $8000 he has made. When you consider all of the money he has spent travelling to Israel, generously paying his hosts and months of conferring with Fish and Pilchard he must be…..dependent on social security.
#14 he didn’t ‘generously pay his hosts’ - he insulted them. Specifically, pissing all over his own family’s generosity.
No doubt Tim’s courtesy link above will add a few more to Loewenstein’s normally low hit-counter.
It is telling to note that for a self-described “Best-selling author”, Loewenstein and his publisher have never volunteered how many copies were actually sold. Most book and music publishers are only to happy to reveal these numbers in their PR activities. Unless they are embarrassing.
So come on Antony, put up or shut up.
Loewenstein invents facts, again.
He claims:
Support for people like Colin Rubenstein is dwindling and he knows it.
Actually support for his organisation is growing and once again, Loewenstein proves to be a wonderful source of wholly unsubstantiated allegations.
I guess Loewenstein conducted a straw-poll of a few of his friends. I doubt very much whether their opinion of Jeeeews has changed a whole lot.
Loewenstein certainly rates himself doesn’t he?

With Loewenstein’s ability to fathom how popular his book is, especially in terms of numbers, he should apply for a job at The Lancet.
He would get it in a flash.

If he’s such a bestselling auther he should be able to afford a finder’s fee for Tim.

Lowesteem thinks he is the centre of the universe.
“Idiot demands respect”...we have another contender. To quote the Oz, “S.B.S. newsreader Mary Kostakidis,at a Melbourne public forum, airs her opinions about Australia.
“We live in an increasingly polarised world and in a climate of fear:are we to believe that it simply boils down to good v bad? We of course are the good guys.
All our mates are also good guys. So if they want to develop or keep their nuclear weapons they can, but those who aren’t mates can’t.We reserve the right to change our minds about who is a mate.(former mates Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein).
Head of Amnesty International Irene Khan was in Sydney to receive the S Peace prize and lamented what she sees as a disturbing shift in Australia’s engagement with the international community.“turning inwards and away from its global responsibilities.”
She identifies Tampa and the demonising of refugees as a pivotal moment in our history.
(kost) What are Austalian values and how Australian is it to allow an Australian citizen to be tortured? Must look at our responsibilities as global citizens and articulating our commitment to human rights.
We live in a cosmopolitan society that fosters diversity and pluralism.
The recent media spotlight on the mufti(Taj Din al-Hilali) must have left many sermonizers across the country and across religions ducking for cover.Australia was LET DOWN BY THE MEDIA,unacceptable ranting ought to be exposed BUT IN AN ALREADY DANGEROUSLY VOLATILE ENVIRONMENT,ISLAM WAS SINGLED OUT WHEN THE ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLACED IN CONTEXT…
Patriotism is used to ensure we all FALL IN LINE BEHIND GOVERNMENT POLICIES for fear of being seen as un Australian.
Those same TRIBAL TENDENCIES: us and them.
YET NEVER HAS UNDERSTANDING THE OTHER BEEN MORE VITAL. HOW ELSE are we to GAIN A PERSPECTIVE THAT EMBRACES OUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS GLOBAL CITIZENS.
That TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE REPERCUSSIONS OF OUR ACTIONS.
I THINK WE NEED TO START TALKING MORE ABOUT GLOBAL VALUES.
Perhaps we should all have DUAL CITIZENSHIP,national and global…”
End article -a few sentences deleted.
Letter writers to the Oz did not like Mary’s speech.
“Mary’s Moral Superiority;
It is not so much the woolly, intellectually lazy, factually challenged, standard issue Left -Elitist rhetoric from Mary Kostakidis that rankles,I guess from an SBS personality that is to be expected.
It’s the sheer arrogance and self regard evident in her smug moral superiority.
SOMEONE SHOULD REMIND HER THAT SHE IS, AFTER ALL, JUST A NEWSREADER.”and “Was M.K. reading an S.B.S. script or voicing her own ideas. This jumble of confused and contradictory ideas demonstrates that AS AN INTELLECTUAL, she is AN OUTSTANDING NEWSREADER.”

If he can get himself quoted on the floor of the Aussie legislature he may have a future as a sockpuppet, a la Greenwald.
