TRENDS NOTED
The New York Times identifies a Japanese fashion trend; the Japanese identify a continuing trend at the New York Times.

Investigators summoned to the home of the deceased on Eighth Ave. in New York City were puzzled by the condition of the premises and theorized the newspaper might have choked on its own parody. “We seriously considered the possibility they just made the whole thing up as a prank,” one revealed. “It’s easy to picture the author smirking to himself when he threw in that nonsense about the ninja.” The investigators concluded, however, that while the Times’ journalism had indeed been a running joke for years due to the unreliability of its stories, particularly about Japan, the article in question was written in dead seriousness.
The New York Times has no sense of humor that anyone is aware of, but we here at Blair’s joint enjoy a good satire.

Okay, I have been to Japan. I am there right now (Sasebo). It does exist, while the NYT is almost certainly an urban legend. Oh sure, there used to be a newspaper of that name, but it disappeared long ago and now exists only in the fevered imaginations of JFK assassination conspiracists, Bigfoot sighters, and 9/11 Twoofers.
The “NYT” is the poodle in the microwave, the hook in the car door handle, the rational Democrat politician.

How about an everyday Mufti outfit, with stick-on beard and goat-breath freshener that defeatist Western infidels could wear to blend in amongst wild-eyed Jihadis!
Huh?
So then, shouldn’t you pay a little more respect to the forward-thinking editors at the NYT?

“It is just easier for Japanese to hide,” Ms. Tsukioka said. “Making a scene would be too embarrassing.” She said her vending machine disguise was inspired by a trick used by the ancient ninja, who cloaked themselves in black blankets at night.
The NYT will no doubt shortly be reporting on the 30th annual Modesto Ninja Parade which slipped through California once again, entirely undetected.
