TONS OF TONES

How is the Age’s little emissions-shaming project going? Hmmm:

Victorians’ emissions from energy rose slightly this week to 2.050 million tones, the highest for the year.

Which tones are contributing to this? Ring tones? Tony Jones? Tone Loc?

  4. Tone Loewenstein?

That has to be better than Loewenstein by the Tone.  Oh, the horror!

  9. Now, we all know that Victorians were a virtuous bunch, eschewing any kind of emissions outside of the marriage bed (which emissions were strictly controlled by thinking of England). This set the tone for an entire era.

  12. Salty, the emissions of which you speak; would they be the nocturnal variety?
They were the only ones I was allowed to have as a boy in Victoria.

  13. I’m not 100% in love with The Age’s tone right now.

#6, Kyda, if you think I’m going to admit knowing who Franchot Tone is, you’re crazy.

  14. I have a suggestion for ecologically minded Victorians. They can offset their carbons by coming up here and planting trees in my top paddock.

Then they can clean up the rest of the place with some hand-scissors so I don’t have to use the tractor. Sweet.

  15. Victorians are too competitive. Give them a record and all they want to do is break it. Foreigners such as Jaspan wouldn’t know that
