“THERE IS NO SNOW”

A protester demands snow:

The man, dressed only in a pair of Speedos, approached the prime minister as he mingled with guests in the local RSL.

He shouted: “What are you doing about global warming? There is no snow, there is no snow”, before he was quickly bundled away by security staff into a nearby toilet.

Via Craigo, who notes: “The bloke’s a total idiot - Brown Mountain, which is only 50km from Bega, was covered in so much snow last week that the highway was closed for a day. If he wants to join a ski team he can drive 2 hours to Thredbo where there’s plenty of snow at the moment.” It’s been a fine winter for snow all over the place.

  1. Clearly a global snow denier.

  2. The guy is obviously a fool. He must have thought the PM was Al Gore, who as quickly as you could say “Global Warming” would have blessed the man with plummetting temperatures and mountains of snow.
For the believers I’m sure Al Gore will one day be the cause of hell freezing over!

  3. I, too, shall protest at the beach in solidarity with Speedo Boy because it is just so unfair that loser states like Colorado and Wyoming and Oregon get ski resorts, and we in Florida have to settle for water skis and jet skis due to our global-warming caused lack of snow (even though it gets down to 70 degrees F sometimes at night).  I blame Bush and his evil sidekick Cheney!

  7. He was interviewed on JJJ yesterday afternoon, and even the idiot presenter was dumbfounded when he launched into his “no snow” spray; the ABC flack commented “but hasn’t this been a bumper year? Even started the season early???!!??”

Idiot in diktogs- “Yes, but last year was terrible”.

A classic example of the sort of gerbil that’s swallowed the Gore 419 without gagging; at least he’s been charged with assault (and I hope he still had his speedos on when they threw him in the watch-house).

Expect to see his buffoonery and attention-seking on youtube shortly- his cretinous offsider recorded the incident.

Whatever happened to the days when pigshit thick bogans used Big Brother or video’d arrest scuffles to gain notoriety.

  8. Everyone can rest assured that I am not going to follow Speedo Boy’s example and do my instructing at Thredbo this weekend in my budgie smugglers.  The official weather forecast is for blizzard conditions, so wearing only budgie smugglers would guarantee I’d have three Adam’s apples.

  9. Hopefully he’ll be in quite a bit of trouble. Assaulting a cop during a rush on the PM shouldn’t be a trivial matter.

  11. Sometimes the differences in English word usage are rather funny.  I know what was meant by bundling someone into the toilet, but in USian English the toilet is the ceramic fixture, not the room.

But I suppose the fellow was dressed for it.  ;-)

I’ve just left a post for you on the other thread, but I’ve found you here

    Great to see you!

As for snow - it’s a bit chilly in Sydney at the moment after a lovely day yesterday (temp of 21C was the same as London’s summer temp for the day)

It must be snowing around Oberon way

  17. The belief in AGW is entirely independent of actual physical evidence.
The AGW theory was postulated before there was any concrete evidence.
The ‘religion’ will survive irrespective of what the Earth’s climate does, in fact I think its adherents will become all the more vehement if the climate cools.
For an interesting history of AGW go here.

Great shame they didn’t call Blue Cow (not that far away) for a fridge semitrailer full of snow.  This would have melted into a bucket while the Feds were working this ape over with a couple of blowtorches, and the resulting H2O used to flush the remains into the Bega River and thence into the Tasman Sea.

I have been pondering today, which is worse? A two degree rise in global temperature, or a two degree fall in global temperature?

I am told that there was also apparently a full “Anti-Global Warming” protest out the front of the RSL where the PM was, but it dispersed pretty quicky when a frigid downpour of sleet hit them soon after the PM arrived.
