  1. There seem to be no babes among the facilitators.  Sacred Gaia lap dancers are missing.  A no-fun-for-a-week conference

  2. Julie McCrossin? I thought she curled up and died when Good News Week went off the air.

O/T, I don’t suppose anyone here wants to write an essay for me on the history of the Internet in Australia? I’m seriously considering going with the “Invented by The Supreme Being Al Gore in…” line.

  4. crikey what a cavalcade of soft left religio-wankers.  gotta love shelby spong just for his name though.  their used to be a fine brand of meat mincer called spong.  got one in the pantry among the ancient kitchen technology.  unlike the mills of god it doesn’t grind slowly and exceedingly small, but produces satisfactorily chunky bratwurst filling. suspect most of those jokers are vegos though

    How about:
Once upon a time, when dinosaurs walked the Earth and MAD was a viable defence strategy, there arose a self-propagating, auto-correcting, highly reliable network. Thus lonely men could continue to swap porn even as nuclear holocaust descended. And AlGore looked upon it and deemed it good. Then the Americans gave it to the Aussies, because they’re good cobbers. It did have drawbacks as moonbats became self-parodying, causing guys like Paco to work harder than they should have to.

I’m sure Paco can do better, but it ain’t half bad.

    Damned good source.
Bottom line: it doesn’t get anywhere without Telco involvement and the intro is still valid: all ‘lines’ are essentially voice grade and may be conditioned for data (which never pays its way on the network and so is a ‘poor relation’ to voice - esp cellphones).

  18. #9: Nice work, Brett; wouldn’t change a word.

One could have a field day with this lot:

“Julie wears many hats including media presenter, freelance journalist, debater, comedian, activist”, tin-foil, baseball cap with twin, side-mounted Kool-Aid dispensers, and occasionally a beanie with a propellor on top.

Good to see that Jenny Te Paa is keeping her chins up.

And if you promise to listen to Dermot Dorgan’s songs - which possess a “humorous or satirical flavor”, not unlike the taste of rancid platypus jerky marinaded in billabong water -he will flap his ears real fast, creating a sound identical to that made by the rufous hummingbird as it hovers over a gardenia blossom.

Gotta keep your bases covered. No Ganesh or Shiva followers though, which seems a bit of waste. It’s alway amusing to throw them all into the mix. Surely there’s a spot on this “esteemed” panel for a Shake-n-Bake Hillbilly?

  24. “progressive religion”?, “interfaith dialogue”?.

    sounds like a crock.  hmmmmm

This international gathering will draw together people from Australia, New Zealand and other parts of the world to explore ways that progressive religion, including progressive expressions of other religious traditions besides Christianity, can contribute positively to the common good so that religion enhances human life rather than diminishing it.

    ah-ha.

  25. With Brown and those other ‘headtilts’, it’s going to be one hell of a mass debate. The multi-coloured masthead at the top of the page says it all. (Move on twats, the sixties are long over). Only Brown could ‘slither’ his way into something like this and he still hangs around parliament like the result of someone who has just passed gas.

  34. Why is this guy Izzat Abdulhadi here:

The Bisan Center aims to strengthen the Palestinian civil society, promoting human rights, democratic principles, human sustainable development and social justice through community development and applied research. Following the Oslo Accords in 1993 he was also among a core group of civil society leaders that established the Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO).

Clearly a failure or fraud, or both.

No Mohammads, though. I guess they are already green and don’t need to prove it.

Good to see that there is yet another Gay and lesbian Choir, though. But don’t they want to make the world pink?

  38. #7- There’ll be a lot of bashing the bishop going on; I note in Julie MacCrossin’s CV she left out the fact that she was a clown for several years- it was most unfortunate the day she turned up pissed and used 2 pack expoxy paint rather than make-up, making it impossible to remove.

I have no idea what Rex Hunt is doing there- Bob Brown is probably aquiver in anticipation about the possibility of Rex getting into the communal claret, and given the combination of Bob’s stunned mullet expression and Rex’s predilicition for smooching fish and poking a gaff up their bottoms, making the obvious mistake.

Maybe they can summons up Mullah Dadullah (which for some reason sounds like a southern NSW beach resort), and have a corporeal corpsey cage match? It’s make the gig profitable when they sold the pay-per-view rights to Fox.

  54. Slightly Christian Marxists.

Spong is a disgrace - when you deny both the virginity of Mary and the physical resurrection of Jesus, you kinda don’t deserve the title ‘bishop’ any more.

Alos, have you ever noticed how these Lefty pseuds all like to frock up in the regalia of the Church, but deny almost every aspect of its teaching.

It’s almost an admission on their part that they don’t have the substance, but they do have the style.
