SWOLLEN ROVE

The Boston Herald’s Virginia Buckingham:

Joe Wilson lied. Karl Rove didn’t.

Quite so. Interestingly, even ultra-leftoid Alexander Cockburn is now encouraging a move away from Rove-obsession:

Thank God Rove is not to be indicted, so the left will have to talk about something else for a change. As a worthy hobbyhorse for the left, the whole Plame scandal has never made any sense. What was it all about in the first analysis? Outing a CIA employee. What’s wrong with that?

Rove has swollen in the left’s imagination like a descendant of Père Ubu, Jarry’s surreal monster. There was no scheme so deviously diabolical but that the hand of Rove could not be detected at work. Actually, the man has always been of middling competence.

That’s what he wants you to think. Fooled again, leftsters!

  1. Actually, the man has always been of middling competence.

Is this foofy dog dissing our Dark Master?  Disrespecting our Lord Karl Rove?  And by extension, all of us loyal RWDBers?  I certainly hope he has an army of bodyguards and a very tall fence around his house.

Heh. He does, but the bodyguards are our people and the fence is made of balsa wood.

Joe Wilson is slime; in fact, I believe he is a mutant variety of the plasmodial slime mold: “enormous single cells with thousands of nuclei. They are formed when individual flagellated cells swarm together and fuse. The result is one large bag of cytoplasm with many diploid nuclei.”

Yep, one large bag of blow-dried cytoplasm. That’s Wilson, all right.

Eliminationism… Say that 10 times real fast.
Can I go with Killemallsim? it’s easier to pronounce.

He orchestrated the election of a smirking chimpanzee to the most powerful position on the face of the Earth.  Not once but twice.

That’s middling competence?  Oh Cockburn isn’t even trying.

Course, he had a lot of help.  We henchman, minions, rogues, and scoundrels (the classes of RWDB below full member) aren’t here just to fill up a party room, you know.

(I think I’ll zap Cockburn with the orbital laser, I’m sure Karl won’t mind).

W-a-i-t a minute. According to the Rovian evolutionary scale, then, if George is a chimpanzee, that makes me a . . . looks it up on the chart . . . a ring-tailed bandicoot! I thought I had at least advanced to lemur status.

  8. Leave Alexander Cockburn alone; he’s only doing Lord Rove’s bidding.  The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn’t exist.

  12. We once had a guy running for office around here named Dick Sweat. There were front lawns all over the place with Dick Sweat on them. Everywhere you looked, you couldn’t avoid Dick Sweat. Car bumpers, window signs, pamplets - all covered with Dick Sweat.

What were we talking about again?

  20. #9 That’s not so unusual.  We have an Aussie Rules player, a very good Aboriginal one, called ‘Johncock’ [pronounced as is], and no one sniggers because we respect him so much.

  21. Joe Wilson has always seemed to me a symbol of political corruption and slease in the CIA, and that he would prove a gift to the Republicans.
Seems to be coming true at last, but the lawyer expense is terrible corruption in itself.
The Dems are really scraping the barrel if they ever thought Wilson was an antidote to their Monica-taint.

  26. Long ago stopped listening to the mad Cockburn and his anti-semitic colleagues, but he has, finally, hit on the vast irony that the Left has allied itself in this war with the organization that it considered the very heart of Satanism for the last 25 years.

Just proves that the Democrats will drop any principle for the one thing they care about most: protecting government employees from any form of accountability for their miserable performance.

Actually, it’s been around even longer than you know.  Go watch the 1961 King of Kings sometime, and watch what happens when the Centurions stop by Mary and Joseph’s.
