SNOW JOB

Fox News presenter Tony Snow is the new White House press secretary. Cue US-wide moonbat meltdown. Post reaction from the usual suspects in comments.

  1. Oh, the melt-down had already begun before he even accepted the job.  Goebbels comments right out of the gate.

And this is any different to Clinton’s appointee to the same position in Joe Lockhart?

According to his official bio at his lecture speaker agency website:

    http://www.harrywalker.com/speakers_template.cfm?spea_id=388

“Before joining the White House in 1997, he was National Press Secretary for the Clinton/Gore ‘96 Re-election campaign and he held several key positions at ABC Network News, CNN and SKY Television News of London.”

I mean, shock horror that such people are picked for their experience in front of a camera…

  9. Yeah, I really didn’t want Snow to take this position....but then who am I?

If he bats the asshats in the ‘press’ room, AKA their private propaganda agenda setting room, then fine. Niceties aside, someone has to say to a David Gregory, or a Helen Thomas...That’s the dumbest thing Zarqawi has heard today, AND he is tickled you asked.

Snow has been hard on the Pres (and he should have been, unfortunately that will be muted now)...and the left wingers have made his comments a “quote”, “unquote” show of his ‘disagreements’ and ‘disaffection’ with a Republican President.

I thought what Tony did was called independent thinking, versus group leftist hate spewing...but what the hell do I know?

First the AWB c,second Chernobyl anniversary and third a rattling good defence of one Mr Lodhi, charged with planning terrorist attacks.Oh and they managed to squeeqe in Mr Al Zakharwi’s speech as well.
Interestingly Glass House featured a comedian who actually ENJOYED entertaining the Aussie troops in Iraq and said good things about them. How strange. Is Aunty Menopausal?

  14. I suppose one could point out in advance that ``candour’’ originally meant finding the good points in other people.  Then, later, finding fault in yourself.  And then, finally, finding fault in other people to their faces.

    Jane Austen combines all three

``I would wish not to be hasty in censuring any one ; but I always speak as I think.’’

``I know you do ; and it is that which makes the wonder.  With your good sense, to be so honestly blind to the follies and nonsense of others !  Affectation of candour is common enough - one meets it everywhere.  But to be candid without affectation or design - to take the good of everyone’s character and make it still better, and say nothing of the bad - belongs to you alone.  And so you like this man’s sisters, do you?  Their manners are not equal to his.’’ [cited by Wm. Empson]

  15. #7 Robert Fisk also slotted into Lateline -a man who looks so obviously away with the fairies that he is embarassing to watch. I suspect a panicking Tony Snowcone finally sees just how peculiar this nutcase is..and desperately is trying to distance himself.
Too late Tones you’re covered in him -ew.
Fisk doesn’t even manage to convince himself -he looks very uncomfortable and when (yes)"challenged" by Jones he capitulated immediately with a weak “yes, you’re right.” Jokes aside there is obviously something very amiss with Fisk.
He is a mental timebomb waiting to explode.

  18. The British director of Al Jazeera just said in a print interview here that the problem with the BBC and the U.S. networks and news channels is that they don’t dare to criticize Bush and Blair (Tony, that is), and who could argue with that astute assessment? So that’s apparently the market Al Jaz is going to derive its future success from once it launches worldwide later this year - relentless criticism of Western politicians. (Wait, is anybody gonna notice the difference, other than that it’ll be it in English now?)

At any rate, Faux News is clearly trying to position itself as the anti-Al Jazeera and is going to become even more of a mindless cheerleader for the fascist Bu$Hitler regime thanks to this appointment. (In case you thought I was going off-topic with this, nyah nyah.)

“You just knew it had to happen eventually. Cutting out everyone else and going straight to your base: right-wing radio. The radio host at the podium, what a stroke of genius. No need for facts or truth. It’s about reaching people through emotion in order to get a reaction, through sound bites that stick. Tony Snow is a dream for Karl Rove. It’s putting one of the leaders of the get out the vote team, the right-wing radio host, up front and center in the press room. The base knows Tony Snow. It’s putting the right-wing voter inside the press room. That Tony Snow comes from Fox puts even more emphasis on the appointment.”

  21. Bad call, Dave. The left loves Riefenstahl.

It’s true. For example, Bianca Jagger is a left-wing moonbat and Mick Jagger is making songs denouncing Condi Rice and George Bush, but they have a soft spot for Hitler’s favorite propaganda film maker. According to the Wikipedia, Riefenstahl was “the first to photograph rock star Mick Jagger and his wife Bianca as a couple holding hands after they were married, as they were both admirers. Jagger told Riefenstahl he had seen Triumph of the Will at least 15 times.”

Triumph of the Will is a highly-effective propaganda film that glorifies Hitler.

  26. Kind of OT, but a great illustration of the lefty mentality we’re discussing here - Air America’s ratings are plunging in NYC, and here’s what one of their flunkies says:

“A network source says the radio ratings released today do not reflect the overall growth of the broadcast.

“‘The demos are better, and listeners trust AIR AMERICA to give them the real truth on issues and the Bush presidency,’ says the insider.”

Perfect. The second part of that sentence is a prime example of the standard Bush-bashing non-sequitur, but it’s the first part that’s the beaut - “The demos are better.” In other words, “Sure, not very many people are listening to us, but the ones who do are the right kind of people.”

    Lefty irrelevance in a nutshell.

I added this linkbecause this shows that the left and the right are merely mirror images of each other.  Now if you can just ignore the hyperbole, the bad spelling and poor grammar, the lack of logic or sanity, the inability to stay on topic and the absence of humor then you can see how much we are alike. 33. Memo to Karl
    Subject:  Is It Time Finally?

    Dear Beloved Leader:

I think it would behoove our organization if I was to list a few meager but possibly helpful accomplishments garnered by your Cincinnati power base.  First, we have provided to the Administration Rob Portman, a fine and upstanding conservative who will make an excellent Budget Director.  Second, we have provided John Boehner, a tried and loyal Republican who will make a fine Majority Leader.  Lastly, we have submitted a replacement for Mr. Moonpie as Communications Director.  Tony Snow is second to none in providing an accurate and proper spin on current events.

I also wish to remind your excellency of the role Cincinnati and its adjoining vassal counties played in giving President Bush the votes he needed to take Ohio and, in turn, the country in the 2004 election.

Since I am your appointed viceroy in charge of the Cincinnati neocon powerbase, should I perhaps be hopeful of a promotion to full membership in the RWDB organization?  I await your answer with trepidation and excitement.

Respectful and In Awe of Your Brilliant Aura,
