SEVERAL PEOPLE VISIT SITE

Environmentalists see the oceans rising by two millimetres and predict global catastrophe; likewise, they witness the internet’s lamest hit count and declare success:

The website of Greens Leader Bob Brown, has clocked over its 200,000th visitor.

“It is fantastic to see such an interest in Greens politics,” Senator Brown said.

The interest is overwhelming!

December 2005 was the best month to date for the site, with more than 16,000 visits in what is a traditionally slow month online.

It’s a lot slower since Bob started dragging things down. By the way, 16,000 visits in a whole month? This is the crappiest online boast since New Matilda raved about an item that spectacularly generated around 40 comments.

The Senator’s regular BobCasts, featuring messages from Bob about whaling, climate change and other hot-button issues, have become a popular feature on the site. The Senator is the world’s first politician to podcast using his mobile phone.

What a pioneer! Please enjoy one of Podcast Bob’s cellphone sermons; be consumed by his rambustious charisma!

  1. “The website of Greens Leader Bob Brown has clocked over its 200,000th visitor.”

I think they meant to write that the 200,000th visitor finally clopped over to Bob Brown’s web site.

  2. My eponymous blog got a little over 20,000 visits last month, and I post there about as often as [famous person] [does something out of the ordinary for that person].

  6. BTW, was there a Kyoto conference meeting recently in Moscow? The city is experiencing record (or near record) cold in the -30°C range that has the Russians cutting back on energy exports to offset heightened heating requirements at home.

Still, at least they’re not as screwed as Canada’s Green Party members (please ignore our CBC’s happy spin):

  8. What is “rambustious”?

Is it a word Bob made up?

  9. Damnit!! Record cold is just PROOF of Global Warming.  Well, okay, at least it’s proof of Global Climate Change.

Doggoneit!! Where are all the greenie trolls?  Do I have to argue this garbage all by myself?

  11. MLonie,

I think “rambustious” is Aussie slang for a woman with big ones.  I may be wrong, I frequently am.

  14. i was gonna say a decen proportion of Lowenstein’s visitors probably originate from this site…  but Dave S beat me too it….

and didn’t a whole heap of us go and vote in some lamo poll on Bob Brown’s site once, or was that just a Green’s website…  after that didn’t they change the poll options to only allow you to vote for one of their extreme positions???  :o)

  16. Not exactly a vibrant bunch the Greens. Their website has had the same online poll since June 2005.

That would be a sensational idea to get Thom Lyons on podcast. I’ve been following the Usenet posts from where Tex from Whackingday has been getting his material and I’ve got to say I truly believe that Thom Lyons is the most disturbed and entertaining left winger to enter the blogoshere, period. I know it’s big call but I’m standing by it. LOL

Didn’t the papers point out this week that Bobster is proudly auctioning off his very own personal possessions, some dating back to when he was a callow youth.Including a rock.

  24. Dammit, Slammer! (No.15) I nearly ruptured myself laughing at that one!

I wonder though, CAN Brown ‘take about an hour on the tower of power, as long as he gets a little….’

On second thoughts let us not go there. No, really not. Seriously horrible visuals. Let us ask instead, how did Zappa write his lyrics bearing in mind his notorious ‘bad trip’ LSD flashbacks?
